seems like an unusually large crop of contorted lines for old PW It's NOT FORMER WHORE!@ "A form of horseshit is being on Ajax". grrr. And where's the "even if I have to vomit" line?

write in: 'I don't want to bug you, I just want to hug you.' Nods, that one is pretty lame by PW standards. (whereas I do like the "holded onto" line).

ok, am i the only one who doesn't get this line? what the 'ell? check the Gun Shy lyric thread. ajax=bad drugs. case closed. but it was all rather recent for the all caps slap-down I got ... ouch. bug/hug and vomit would be excellent additions to this poll. actually I like the holded line too, and he fixes it in the next line, so you know it was intentional.

write in: 'I don't want to bug you, I just want to hug you.' I like this line. I swoon when he sings "I just want to hug you all night..." But then, I AM a girl...

write in: 'I don't want to bug you, I just want to hug you.' I've tried to overlook them, but this line and the "vices of the parent" one are really cringe-inducing.

Why does everyone hate 'the vices of the parents...'? That's the only line in that song that doesn't sound cliched. Is it just too wordy, or am I missing something else? It's not like song lyrics pretend to be some great work of literature, so I can take a clunker here or there. (not the hug/bug though..'shudder')
In an interview from a few years back, he talked about his son's birth (not an easy one I'd gather) and I think most parents blame themselves for any problems their children have. Or that's what I got out of it.

The "TV" line and the line from "23 Years Ago" don't bug me at all.
My vote goes to bug/hug.

I like the I promise not to bug you line. It made me smile. What's wrong with the vices of the parents line though?
