Then:
The plan was to set the world on it's ear. "Happy Town"
Now:
We may well be the ones to set the world on it's ear. "We May Be The Ones"
Then:
Fingernails and Cigarettes. "I Will Dare"
Now:
Headaches and cigars. "Boring Enormous"
Then:
Playin' make-up, wearin' guitar. "Left Of The Dial"
Now:
Wearin' too much make-up, not near enough clothes "Wonderful Lie".

nice observation but you can't blame somebody for growing up a little(not insinuating you are ) thank god he's not trying to hang on to his old style like Alice Cooper or somebody playing at state fairs and stuff. the lyrical subject may have changed but the talent is still in full force.

Umm yeah, what you said. Frankly, I was just listing lyrics, past and present with a common thread. I was hoping for a few more to chime in.

i was thinking about this awhile ago as well... (sorry, not blue oyster cult) and what i was thinking of were actual songs that maybe had the same subject or theme.... like, we're comin out then becomes, nightclub jitters then it becomes, talent show then something like (maybe?) what a day for a night...

'Hold my life until I'm ready to use it' - Hold My Life 'Then I'd rather not waste my life on hold' - Let the Bad Times Roll Then: "Hold My Life" Sort of Now: "hold my life" in "Good Day" i sometimes envy people who can remember lyrics verbatum (spellcheck?!)but i also feel bad because they don't rediscover them everytime. Having a good aptitude for song lyrics doesn't mean I don't rediscover them. Especially the ones I've been mishearing for years. If you think that's bad just ask me to sing "Senor Don Gato" or "His Banner Over Me", complete with the cute little dance that went along with it.

WAY BACK WHEN (I'll Be You) A dream, too tired to come true
THEN (First Glimmer) We made a wish things would never be better Train whistle blew, our wish came true
NOW (As Far as I Know) I’m in love with a dream I had as a kid I wait up the street until you show That dream it came true, but you never do No you never did
---------------------------------
THEN (I'll Buy) Give my regards to Broadway Tell em I don't even care
NOW (Ain't Got Me) You've got Broadway, the longest street With the shortest memory

It's Will Farrell. "Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription.. is more cowbell"! The cow bell sketch is a f*cking classic but your avatar thing is definitely Chris Farley. His dance moves in that Chip and Dale's sketch make me laugh every single time.
