Not just to correct a misheard lyric, more like if you always wished a lyric was slightly different than what he sings.
For me, one is:
"Shot bolt upright, when you mentioned the whole night" which for some reason I always wish was: "Shot bolt upright, when you mentioned the moonlight" even though "whole night" makes more sense.

"Like Christopher Columbus, in a world that's flat"
"Like Christopher Columbus, in a world GONE flat"

Forgive me Paul, but from My Daydream:
"Tell me everything that you ever wanted, tell it to me right here"
Instead:
"Tell me everything that you ever wanted, tell me right here I am"
Because: A. I keep hearing it that way, and 2. It's a 'before and after' ("tell me right here", and "here I am").

I love the audacity of this thread...
In "Gary's got a Boner", the lines
You're gonna get her down You're gonna finger to her You're gonna suck me down You're gonna see her out
Or whatever the hell the boys are screamin'...
Should have been
You're gonna f*ck Madonna You're gonna f*ck Madonna You're gonna f*ck Madonna You're gonna f*ck Madonna
As I could swear that's what I heard in one of my drunken stupors...

First few times through Never mind I thought the Chorus was.
"I'm hoping that this fight ain't just a waste of time"
When I realized it was "all over but the shouting" I used the lyric in one of my bands songs with the obvious nod to the Mats.

"Gotta get a move on I'm just a honky with a hard on"
A whole different image, no?

In Bastards of young I always heard "And Pete's picking cotton, waiting to be forgotten". I always wondered who Pete was.
Also "We are the sons of no one" but it's really "Wait on the sons of no one" right?
Sorry I can't add any new lyrics but thought I'd share.

For a while I mentally sung, "Your eyes like sparks and my heart like Vasoline", even though that makes no sense. Actually, I think that does make sense (vasoline=slippery/hard to hold), though not as much. And that would bring me to the Flaming Lips singing "she don't use jelly"......

I think he could sell it to the manufacturer for a TV commercial, if they did TV ads for Vaseline.
Radio?

ADD, OCD, F-U-C-K-E-D, that's me! sometimes
ADD, BVD, F-U-C-K-E-D, that's me!
I can also, in my head, make Elton John sing, "Someone shaved my wife tonight," but that's just wrong.

Okay. I'm not sure if I'd say my way is better, but, er, instead of hearing:
"You know the reason I'm listening for"
in A Few Minutes of Silence, I keep hearing:
"You know the reason I'm a listening whore"
and I figured it was just an interesting way of saying he likes to...listen to stuff? yeah.

"Try to figure out they wonder what next you'll pull. You don't understand anything sexual."
The first time I heard it, I thought he said "Try to figure out the lonely one next to you. You don't understand anything sexual."
I've always thought this misheard lyric fits at least as well as the real one.
