Actually, I think it's the most spot-on and correct review I've ever read of his solo work. The point of all these albums is not to make a masterpiece but to let his fans hear just about everything he writes.

Yeah Pitchfork's reviews can pretty harsh. I'd say this was a fair one though. And the reviewer is right on the money I thought. I don't want another "Suicane Gratification" from him but I would like it if Westerberg went back to the studio and did a "real" album again. I'm really enjoying "Folker" but doesn't it sound like a bunch of b-sides and outtakes? Even "Stereo" sounds better produced than "Folker".

great review, save for the "nay" vote on vomit!
on a related note, i have been waiting on pins & needles for some reviewer to call my dad the "emotional centerpiece" of the album. come on, reviewers! you're slippin' up.
