I couldn't find the threads already started on VGH so here goes ...
Source - Rock Journal Dan: How did you wind up joining Guns N' Roses in 1990? Dizzy: In 1990 I joined Guns N' Roses when they decided to add a keyboard player. I had known Axl .....
Dan: Is there anything else you want to add? Any plugs? Dizzy: Buy Tommy Stinson's new record. Its amazing. Its beautiful. Its incredible. Its one of the best records of the year.

Just offering my opinion. F*cking off in progress.. well, "peter", perhaps i was a bit harsh. i think your opinion was simply an attempt to poke the hive, stir the shit, whatever you like to call it. how about explaining your perspective instead of calling an album you had to know some of us would like a lot a "piece of shit". anyway, no harm done. i loved "stay the night", and that song from karate kid.

no harm done and Im sorry for the post. I should listen to it I guess but it just sounded lame to me, then again, what do I know? Im still trying to top "One More Story".

but I ask of thee..do you really like it? I dont feel any need to like his music if I think its garbage just cause he was w/ the mats (and Im not implying that you like it for that reason). Westerberg, on the other hand, continues to impress me. The only thing Ive heard from Tommy that was listenable was Bash and Pop CD. Never heard Perfect CD and this latest..well, you know my opinion. Ok, over and out.

the latest, once twice three times a maybe is really quite good, i would recommend it...i dig the new tommy, it really crosses over into seeveral paces of songs:, quiet , to fast etc, something i have always liked about the mats records....i would try and listen to some of it via the web(itunes) or your local independent store....most have some type listening station, i do recall when living back in mpls let it be records(still my fave) had a CD player where you could listen to a record before you bought it....dig it....all hail let it be records!@#$%^&

peter, two things:
1. you have or you haven't listened to tommy's solo album? i can't get a read on you. i have discussed this album at length elsewhere on this board, so i will not rehash my review(s) of it.
i think it has some dead spots, but mostly good songs (save for one or two). the high points are REALLY REALLY OBSCENELY high points. i am thinking specifically of without a view, and someday.
2. i know 25 or 6 to 4 is a drug song, but i don't get the numbers reference. what gives?

Not sure where to put this, but Tommy gets a blurb interview in Blender. Highlights:
1-He has been drunk in Winona Ryder's house 2-He's never driven a car (what's with the car aversion?) 3-He's gotten lucky in an airplane, more than once.

Did any memeber of the Replacements ever have a driver's license? I can almost see that with Tommy. His needs were pretty much micromanaged throught his adolescence.

I cant honestly say ive given it a fair shake. I gave it 2 spins, decided Id never listen to it again and gave it to someone. SO, my POS review was out of line. Sometimes albums take a while to grow and sometimes 1 or 2 listens are all it takes to know whether you'll like it or not. That probably doesnt give you a better read but thats all I can say!

whats your favorite tune scooter off of Folker? there are a lot of good songs on the album: my dad, heaven, as far as i know, folk star, etc., but gun shy gets my nod as the best.
