that is really my favorite song off of 14 songs. it is awesome, and i like her version quite a bit. tom, finding beauty in unlikely places, etc.

I have an MP3 of Patty Griffin doing this song that's pretty damn good too. I wish she would release a proper version of it sometime.

i like it lots on 14 songs, the colvin, not so much. it's not malin bad or anything, mind you, just doesn't add to the original.
fave song off 14 songs is blackeyed susan

No comment on Colvin ('nuff said). Favorite 14 Songs tune is Down Love. Not trying to turn this into a "Favorite 14 Songs Song" thread, I just don't get the chance to express that too often.

Thanks for that! I never really got the jist of this song though. Anyone care to shed some light? Poetry- I guess it can mean something a little different to everyone. For me it's like- when I'm not on top of my game or I feel like I've never- or may never- reach my potential, that's a good time to listen to "Even Here". I just watched New York Doll last night. Its like that. Maybe Arthur Kane was the flower growing wild in the garbage dump.
