Reminder: Per this, please don't argue the same points over and over again. Spare the horse! We're all clear on where people stand on the picture issue. Let's git this doggy movin' along. Thank you!

I'm not really sure whether or not to get this book. I guess it couldn't hurt. I'm more looking for Paul material, but i wouldn't mind getting to know his Wife's story i guess. You guys all seem to like it. That's enough for me!

No Pictures? Forget it, I'm not going to buy it.
However, I have been a longtime Lindeen fan so if someone could please send me their used copy I'd certainly appreciate it (and promise to not sell it on ebay for more than $25).
Thank you.

Can't help you out on that one, you prick! However, I will send you an advance copy of the Westerberg autobiography that I am ghostwriting for him. Tentatively titled : Westerberg - My Life With Lots of Pictures and Easy-to-Follow Sentences. Scheduled to drop in time for Christmas.

I went to see Laurie Lindeen last night at Arlene's Grocery in NYC. She didn't read from the book, but rather sang two songs off Pregnant Pause, accompanied by a keyboard player from Semisonic.
I spoke with her afterward, telling her I'd seen Zuzu's Petals in the mid-90s and thought they were fun. She was extremely nice, we exchanged experiences with kids in Little League.
I'm about halfway throught the book and I like it ok. Being from the midwest, I can relate to alot of things she mentions about growing up in Wisconsin.

Which member of Semisonic was it? doesn't the drummer handle key duties in that band?

In fact I was really disappointed that she didn't write about the actual break up of Zuzu's Petals and how that went down. She just told us that she cried about it. That was kind of a ripoff. I thought she did a pretty good job of describing ZuZu's Petals as a band that had run its course, and really had no future. I would imagine the specific details of the breakup were probably pretty mundane. CF

Honestly, I was plum bored with a good lot of Petal Pusher. Lindeen spends so much time complaining about her lack of success w/ her band & her personal life, I found her to be an irritant. O.K., things didn't work out, I get it, but at least make it entertaining for the reader. Lindeen is now blogging on her website (& surprise!) complaining about her book & its placement in stores. F. Scott Fitzgerald she ain't. Ah well. Well, I can certainly understand how someone spending so much time complaining redundantly can become irritating. As far as Petal Pusher....I liked it.

Well, she has not been to all stores... I was sort of surprised to see her book at the new Borders in Austin, TX on the very front table with all the new publications. (not just rock books and memoirs).... Of course, after the initial promotion they are going to have to file it somewhere in the store..The emphasis on music in the title will probably guarantee it's placement between ZZ Top and Frank Zappa as she fears. CF Same here: front table next to Punk Rock Dad, another book that's sure to end up on the rock bio shelf because, um, it's written by a rock guy. I almost left a message on her site, telling that her book was indeed getting some publicity, but I wasn't sure she'd want Paul's fans leaving comments. (I haven't been nubile in some time, though.)
