Are you trying to cause Scooter to stroke out?

Is there any version of Bastards by PW or the Mats that lies between the way they did it on Tim and the mellow Jesse Malin take or the muzak version?
I need it for a project, and if it doesn't exist I might have to go with the much maligned Malin.

If I was going to use it for a project I'd take the boardie tribute album version over Jesse any day.

I'm a big JM fan, and this cover is less than stellar. I also wasn't a big fan of his Clash cover, Death or Glory. it was similar in style to Bastards. But the stuff he writes? I love it.

w/ a fairly bizarre intro:
"...it was written by Paul Westerberg, who actually recently put a screwdriver through his hand --- whoooo! --- I read this on the internet."
re: the song. comes off a little better and more genuine than the album version, but he's still way too over-the-top dramatic at the "the ones who love us best are the ones we'll lay to rest..." part.

btw, i thought the Death or Glory cover was more than decent - actually pretty good.
