Did Tommy quit GNR? If so, I'd say he's ripe to cash in on a 'Mats reunion. From Rolling Stone: "Does anyone have a dry-erase board? We could use a big ass timeline to keep all the Guns vs. Eagles facts straight. Apparently Guns N’ Roses’ manager Merck Mercuriadis denied the EODM’s claim that, when Axl announced the band had been tossed off GNR’s tour Tommy Stinson took threw his bass and shouted “Fuck you, that’s it!” at Axl, who promptly threw the bass back at him. “The Eagles Of Death Metal were asked to leave the tour not only because Guns N’ Roses’ audience hated them,” Mercuriadis said, “but because they could not handle the response. They were supposed to play a 60-minute set but left the stage after 42 minutes due to the hostile reception.” We are standing by for Eagles inevitable, witty response." Doesnt appear to be true...This is from the Mpls paper's review of Saturday night's GnR show...
Axl took the stage around 11:45, appearing with his “Do you know where you f—ing are?” scream for “Welcome to the Jungle.” He and the band quit after “Paradise City” and a barrage of confetti around 2:10 a.m.
In between, they offered 21 songs, five new ones, a couple of surprises (”Down on the Farm” and “Rocket Queen”), plus three long solos by each guitarist (!) and even a piano solo from Dizzy Reed (!!). There was no sign of the rumored rift between Axl and Tommy Stinson because of the Eagles of Death Metal debacle. Axl made a couple references to Tommy being a local boy and used the same line as in 2002, calling him “our replacement.”

Tommy issued this statement in response.....
"I would like to say that's all they are - inaccuracies. In the past I have thrown my bass. I have never thrown it at Axl or anyone else in the band nor has anyone thrown my bass back at me… yet. Axl has been a dear friend to me for nine years. We have no problem communicating and wish that people would stay the fuck out of shit they don't know anything about. There was no GN'R mutiny or any such thing after the Cleveland gig and as far as I'mconcerned this tour has been the most fun yet. The band is playing great and getting along better than we ever have. With that said, either get on board or fuck off."

Well, I'm very happy that Tommy plays in GN'R, because otherwise I would never have discovered The Replacements or Paul Westerberg. I saw GN'R this year two times during my stay in San Francisco and the shows were awesome. After the shows I was waiting at the backdoor of the club and I met the band, that means I also met Tommy, what was like a dream for me. I know that it's a long way from GN'R to The Replacements, but in my opinion Tommy fits perfectly into both bands.

Agreed. Im looking forward to the new album being released to hear Tommys input. Axl has just announced a release date for the album, March 6th 2007. This is the first time that Axl has himself announced a release date, all previous announcements were dreamt up by news sources so Im hopeful it will be released close to that date.
