I just got an e-mail about a new Tommy board. It's very new, but could be cool. We definitely need some 'Mats fans over there. The administrator has never heard them. tommystinson.proboards50.com/index.cgi?

Pretty cool and interesting to see how Tommy's work is viewed by those who aren't filtering him through the Mats legend. He's had a music career in his own right, I tend to forget that from time to time.
That being said, Friday Night is Killing Me is my favorite post Mats work of anyone.

The Admin admits a lack of Replacements knowledge but seems to be learning fast. CF

That being said, Friday Night is Killing Me is my favorite post Mats work of anyone. Thank you. I said the same thing a few days ago and didn't get an amen. It's a fantastic album and the production has that rare and magical balance of polish and raw energy. It's got a great punchy sound without ever sounding over-produced (like I thought Village Gorilla Head was). I keep hoping that Paul will somehow manage to find that sound, but he seems to go from one extreme to the other.
