I'm sure I'm just hearing things but I could have sworn I heard a snippet of this song at the end of commercial I saw tonight, for the new will Ferrell mive, "Stranger Than Fiction"....just me? OK.

Could it have been a song that sounds a lot like "Any Better Than This," when heard on the fly? From this soundtrack tracklist at spin.com, where you can hear samples, my guess would be one of the Spoon songs, #5 or #14, or even a snippet of classic that "Any Better Than This" emulates, like #3 or #11 (you'd think those would be recognizable as themselves, but at the tag end of a commercial, who's to say). 1. These days, they use songs in the commercials that aren't in the movie (which I think is kind of a rip-off) so I don't think it necessarily needs to be a soundtrack sound to be in the commercial. I looked up the movie today and it's from Sony Pictures so maybe they are just re-purposing the Open Season songs  On a side note, this movie looks like it's has the potential to be extremely funny.....Will Ferrell, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson. |

I saw the ad during the OC tonight - definitely the little organ run from "Any better than this." Though I voted on another thread that LYINF is my favorite Open Season track, I have to admit ABTT really hits the sweet spot.

The OC, woo-hoo! (groan...) I watched it last night too, pretty bad. They did feature "Mr Rabbit" in an earlier episode though, so big ups for that. |
