I hope I'm not the only one who thinks these two strong songs are a lot alike.

Yeah, I've heard alot of similarity between the two songs...I dig the "I took a vow of celebrity" line in All About Me.

Nope, I hear a slowed down Footsteps riff in All About Me.

I hear a little "Best Thing That Never Happened" as well.

I hear the similarities, but my opinions of both tunes couldn't be any further apart. I think All About Me is the gem off the soundtrack and it stands up next to the best of Folker (actually, it sounds like it belongs on Folker), but I've probably listened to Footsteps all the way through maybe 5 times tops. It's one of the rare PW songs that I always skip.

Hey Clams C, welcome back. I didn't used to like Footsteps either but I don't skip it anymore. And I hear you, kgp, about Best Thing. The intriguing thing to me is how these three songs that have musical similarities (rhythm, first off) are also similar lyrically, in what they're about. It's like playing this riff this way dictates his subject matter and stance.
