Goddamnit, somebody make him come back to the world!
I've decided infrequent posting on the PW message board - bordering on whining - is but one of the many steps I must complete in order to make the man come back.
The rest involve chicken feathers and ink made from squashed insects. Incantations. Spellcheck.
No one can hear me, I know it...

Let's do a petition.. actually that would probably make him do the opposite.

Well, it's hard to believe that it's been a year already since he kicked off the Folker tour. The first show I caught on the tour was in Memphis....I got to meet RJ and A Reg, finally met some folks from the board. From there, it was on to Boston and then caught him one last time in DC. Thought about going to Philly and Orlando to see him but just couldn't swing it. I still play the field recordings I was able to collect from this tour, many thanks to the MWT'ers who graciously weeded out those shows.
But in the words of Marz, "Paul must tour!"

We really were spoiled by all those releases and tours in the past few years. It'd have been nice to see him keep that up, and he probably could release an album of home recordings any time he wanted to given his stockpile and obsessive writing habits, but I'd guess the soundtrack is taking up more of his time than he expected. There are a few interviews where he talks about finding it difficult to 'write to order' and to synch the songs to the action on-screen. And, of course, they're still working on the actual film itself so he may be called upon to do revisions to work he's already done. Thinking about it, it's probably horrible for someone like Paul who likes to knock 'em out in his basement. But hey, little Johnny needs a college fund.
Personally, I just really want to hear 'The Right to Arm Bears'. I'm still laughing at that title.

I would’ve posted to this thread sooner, but I was busy chanting at my Paul Must Tour1 altar.
I realized a couple of months ago that I’m living my life with an asterisk in it. Whenever anyone mentions doing anything more into the future than the next week or two, I agree, but then quickly add “ * unless Paul tours, then I’m outta here.” Friends and family know that a Paul tour would take priority over any other plans. My (work) vacation days are treated like gold, saving them up so I can take off with minimal hassle.
And just think: year ago right now we were waiting for the second leg of the 2005 tour to begin! {snuffle}
Summer, ’06 would be a fine time for a tour….
1 = Royalties to Marz

Hey EM, what's happening. Folks, just save your Benjamin's for that trip to LA next March so you can be near the Red Carpet when PW strolls to the Kodak theatre to accept his Oscar for best original song. Afterwards, we'll call his room at the Riot House and invite him down to the MWT party. got it?

I think the most likely scenario is that Paul writes something as good as Here Comes A Regular and gets nominated, only to lose out to next year's "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp". But come to think of it, "losing" in that fashion might make for a better party anyway. Think of the fun we'd have drunkenly excoriating those Hollywood dimwits...

Man, I do wish the guy would throw us a bone or two. The Open Season soundtrack didn't quite hit the spot.

I dunno. Open Season. Gig with Tommy. The Craft event. Those were some nice bones there.
Just a guess...Mr Jim Walsh said a few weeks agio in Seattle that in April the Twin Tone reissues are coming out, followed by The Warner stuff in September (or maybe both in September...can't remember.) Those involved could be gearing up for that...maybe...

I miss Paul, too, but I can see the need to take some time off after doing a record a year for about five.
The hand injury set him back a bit, too.
Does Paul currently have a label? I'd like to see Lost Highway pick him up. He'd fit in nicely with their roster. (Ryan Adams would be his label mate!) Or Yep Roc.
