Joy of Joys. I was coming home from some silly weekend engagement at work when I heard the DJ say he was going to play some Paul Westerberg in the next set and sure enough he did. First time I've ever heard any of PW's music over the air waves. There were two things that kept my rapture from being complete.
1.) It was Public Radio, not quite as cool as hearing on a commerical station, probably cause that definitely puts it in the nerd rock category
2.) They followed it up by that awful song by the Wankers or some such one hit wonder band from the early ninties titled "I would walk one hundred miles" Talk about dissonance.
C'mon you know the song I'm refering to: "when I hav- up ( or something unintelligle), well I know I want to be the man who is having up ( or something unintelligle) next to you."
I'm pretty sure putting those two songs side by side is a crime.
Anyway my whole point is that PW got some air play and NPR owes him $12.95 in royalties. ( oh , and that other song still sucks)

I think Dead Man Shake was the album of the week on 3RRR in Melbourne. It's not-for-profit. But it's one of the best stations in the world and where half of Aussie radio people got their starts. (Right Nudge?)

just like triple J in sydney. i've had my stuff played on triple J so that shows you right there they're not in it for the money, and they play any dribble too.
