And am I the ONLY fool that bought Botch? I bought it for the cover artwork - Mars' strength is definitely in his brush. I love the video for "Monkey Sees", a Kinks-slanted-towards-Dave song if there ever was one. I bought it too, but only because I considered myself to be a Replacements completist. not sure if I would get any more of his stuff, if he ever records again. CF

C'mon....who are we kidding? As completists we'd STILL buy his next cd, crappy or not. I guess we're Replacement Whores when it comes to this kind of stuff.

I wonder how much of Horseshoes and possibly 75% Less Fat was written while he was in the 'mats? Its know that they were writting their own stuff all along... That being said , is that why his first two releases are more listen-friendly to us - years after being out of the band - he is no longer writting to please the rest of the guys and things go off down his own path... I guess now that has led to him not playing music now all together...
Did Chris ever perform live solo? I remember that he at least one occasion that was mentioned after the release of Horseshoes - Is that accurate?

I story I remember is that when Horseshoes came out he put together a band to promote it by playing at least one local gig... The joke was - Chris was not a performing member of that band! I'm not 100% sure if that story is true... CF

Hmmm I hope someone will let the truth be told on that one. I guess Chris was quite the jokester in the band from what I have heard - and instigated a lot of the goofing off and antics.

Tim-I have "Anonymous Botch" too. I guess the only solo Mats stuff I don't have is Bob Stinson's post Mats work. I like most of the Mars stuff though

Our Band Could Be Your Life mentions Mars's unpublished memoirs. Has anyone heard anything more about them?
