My 2 cents... I think the "c'mon little bitch" references are PW quoting the guy judging from the lines right before that "next time he beckons" and "next time he starts calling." However, the last time he says it I think he is referring directly to the guy. I don't see it as a chivalry, him-saving-her thing. I think he is encouraging her to put the guy in his place telling her to "bite his hand next time he beckons" and "slap that taste right out of his mouth." It's only by the last verses when he says if you don't do it I will with the "I'm out and shouting." I agree completely, though I do see it as a 'him-saving-her thing' in the last verse. He gets exasperated that the woman won't fight back herself so he reluctantly pulls out the chivalry.

so he later writes, "he's got your number" or got you down, or whatever the official title is.
Guess he wasn't finished with the topic.

Uh, I don't see how the *bitch* refers to the girl, even in a nice-guy way. Most women really don't like being called bitch under any circumstances. I assumed the term "bitch" refered to the woman's pet dog. (a female dog of course). And Paul was taking the dog for a walk. "Come on. Come on."

I read this thread before I really listened to the song and after I listened to it, I also took it as Paul is walking his dog and the "Come on Come on" is directed at his dog. I'm always telling my dogs "come on" as they always are stopping to check stuff out on our walks. LH I assumed the term "bitch" refered to the woman's pet dog. (a female dog of course). And Paul was taking the dog for a walk. "Come on. Come on."
