I vote to wear. Anything that might possibly make the evening more interesting.

No one on the stage will notice or care what shirt you have on, but if you actually want to rattle his cage, you should just stay home.

It's been done, but yelling out "Play 'Cuts Like A Knife'" seems to do it.
Of course, you could wear the shirt and yell out "play [insert PW song here]"

take a page from a magazine with paul's picture on it, draw voice balloon with "eat it, sucko" in it. make airplane. throw to stage.

No one on the stage will notice or care what shirt you have on... Late 1980s, at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. I go to see Jerry Lee Lewis. I'm sitting in the front row wearing a "RUN-DMC / KING OF ROCK" t-shirt. In the middle of the third or fourth song, Jerry Lee stops playing. The band's befuddled and the song grinds to a halt. Jerry Lee leans into the mic, points at me, and says, "Son, I'M the King of Rock!," waits a beat, and starts up the song again, the band falling in behind him. I was embarrassed at the time, but now it's one of my favorite rock & roll moments.

call me a dork if you must, but, i saw ra twice in september, here in cali. i expected at least a mild display of histrionics either time....but there was none. he played for forever the second night, was gracious with the audience (he let us vote with applause as to whether we wanted to hear new stuff or old stuff, after admonishing us that we couldn't vote twice)....one of my favorite moments was when he launched into a story about a fugazi song, and someone began screaming, "play it!"....which he did, the chorus at least, to the delight of a few up in front...
so, i'm not sure you'll be able to rattle him so easily. in sum (at least in september), he was in very good spirits.
the audience, however, might be a different story. someone shouted out "SUMMER OF 69!" loudly when he sat down at the piano.... to which several people in that vicinity screamed out, "boo!" and one person even said, "asshole!" adams completely ignored the whole thing.

I've heard that if you can get twenty or so members of the audience to do that Addams Family theme song do-doo-doo-do-dupe and finger snap bit, it'll throw him off.

Where-When did the Ryan Adams/PW comparison even start. I've heard about 10 different RA songs on XM radio and never once has it reminded me of PW. Not even remotely.
The only reason I know about the comparison is from various PW sites and interviews.

The only reason I know about the comparison is from various PW sites and interviews. you know the first time i heard wiskeytown , i said they remind me of the replacements. ryan adams was definetly influenced by paul ,attitude , the almost counrty undertone in there music, a lot of people feel the same way i do. listen to strangers almanac from whiskey town two songs in general that i feel are sounds of replacments is (turn around, and derail)

jlsgli Plan to be there as well, with my daughter, but she won't be giving ryan adams her star glasses. Just wouldn't be the same.
