This may have already been touched upon, but is anyone else upset that there isn't a disc of B-sides and import singles? It would be nice to be able to pick up 33rd of July, Make Your Own Kind of Music, etc. without having to shell out an arm and a leg for the import discs...
P.S. Does Paul get any more money if we buy the disc from Rhino as opposed to Amazon? Current prices are $13.99 on Amazon and $18.98 at Rhino.com (which makes it more expensive even if you use the $3 coupon from the shows).

As the current tour winds down and Paul gets back to other projects in his life, like the soundtrack, does anyone think that Paul might do a promotional thing for the CD? Like perform with HOFs on Letterman or Conan?
I thought that maybe he and HOFs would tape an appearance while they were in NYC, but I guess that didn't work out for him. Since the tour is almost over, andn I probably won't see him for any of these last gigs, I'm just doing some wishful thinking that I'd see Paul perform one more time. If it's on TV, then so be it.

Prediction: Besterberg inspires a new cluster of cover versions over the next couple years, including a breakout version of "Things" by somebody or other, maybe even PW

I don't know much about country, but I could see it turning into a No. 1 hit for one of those guys like Tim McGraw. Impeccable tune.

The idea of Tim McGraw making a cover of Things made me laugh so loud (I think they heard me in Jersey) and shiver uncontrollably at the same time... shivers

Impeccable tune. well, to play devil's advocate..... i would love to see someone like that do a pw song, for the simple reason that i think it would draw attention to him as a songwriter. he has gotten plenty of attention for things other than songwriting... he has written some great songs and it would be nice to see that really acknowledged.

I agree with Easyheart here. Paul may have plenty of money for all I know but when I see the millions that are raked in by talentless hacks like Britney, Billy Joel, Christina, Backstreet Boys, etc.............it burns me alittle that Paul doesn't get his due. However, there is a great benefit to us, his fans. We get to see him in intimate places, where we don't need a JUmbotron to tell us if Paul is smiling, sweating, laughing, or cursing. I want Paul to reap the benefits of stadium shows but I want to see him in smoky bar.

Yes, I'd love to see Paul Westerberg acknowledged and rewarded for the contributions he's made to music, but at the same time, I was standing within four feet of the dude Friday night and absolutely rocking OUT! From a selfish point of view, I'm tickled that he's not on the level of say a U2, where if you do see them at all, it's usually with seventy thousand people in a stadium and you might as well be watching ants perform. I refuse to do stadium shows, hell--I don't even like to go to a large arena to see a band. I'd do it for Westerberg, but nothing beats the kind of gig and the kind of fun I had at The Roxy this past Friday.
