Remasters can be so hit and miss. Tom Waits released a bunch of remasters maybe 10 years back +/- and I bought and then sold them all. I still have my original Swordfishtrombone and Rain Dogs records and they sound phenomenal. Super quiet vinyl on both. Everyone hated those 2014 remasters so much that they’re doing it all over again, this time with a digital step for some reason.

From Bob Mehr: "FYI, the Tim box offers best of all worlds presenting the most accurate sounding version of the orig. '85 Ramone mix too. Most fans been listening to a hollow digital master from '87 or the ‘08 remaster which boosted bass but lost all dynamics. New OG Tim remaster remedies that." I wonder if he's saying the original record was digital? Or just the CD release? Because I still have all my original vinyl records, and I hated the 2008 remasters when they came out. Huge difference. It'll be interesting to compare the original Tim vinyl to the new remastered CD. EDIT: Nevermind, I see the original vinyl release was all analog and he was just talking about CDs and the crap remasters. Still it'll be interesting to compare.

Pre-ordered, let’s hope Rhino doesn’t completely screw up the shipping this time.

Hopefully it will be an improvement, but that guy literally responded to his own question with a fantasy, as if he wasn’t the one who asked.

Interesting...sounds like someone made a copy of something they shouldn't have. The rumor last year was someone heard the remix and it was awesome. For the Replacements Facebook site to get out ahead of it means something is out there. I think that rumor was pretty convincingly debunked by the guy's own posting history.

Kevin Bowe once posted a photo of Paul and Lucinda cozied up in the back of the tour bus, but I think he’s since deleted it.

It looks like he deleted it after other users called b.s. based on his previous posts. Looks like he just made it up. It might be bullshit but I dunno. I went back and looked at his previous posts before he deleted em. All of them have been about music/ vinyl and going back a bit in his post history, he spoke about working for some kind of record company or distributor…. It could be bullshit, I mean it does sound to good to be true, but then there’s a part of me that wants to believe…. I kinda feel like Fox Mulder typing this. Other users realized it was b.s. because less than 24 hours earlier he was fantasizing about what a Tim remaster and wishing for it to happen. Then hours later he posted a detailed review of his fantasy remaster, pretending he was given a special exclusive listen.

I feel like articles like that are some kind of negative clickbait, where the writer just intentionally gets everything wrong for the sole purpose of attracting a lot of negative attention. On a positive note, check out this great PBS documentary instead: www.tpt.org/minnesota-hardcore/

I'm sure he's fine. It's silly to think that Paul needs $15k from us to make a record. I'm sure he made more from the last tour than most people make in their whole lives. As somebody who's been to Dave Pirner's house, the idea that these guys are struggling is pretty funny.

Crowdfunding somebody who could get a record deal with one phone call? I don't think Paul's silence is due to a lack of financial support.

Definitely “We got too hungry to eat”
Also, “A free man in the morning/I’ll be a free man in the evening.”
And I’m way less sure about this, but I’ve been singing, “The story once had a good part, but in the nineteens.” As in the 1980s.
Tommy wrote this on the last tour with Paul, so…yeah.

Not at all a guilty pleasure, but every time I hear Aerosmith’s No More No More, I can’t help but to think it would be the perfect Mats cover song.
“Lived my life a screamer, bound to a wife in marriage.”
My Aerosmith guilty pleasure though is Jaded, and I think Paul and Tommy could tear that one up.

Every Replacements album is a masterclass in track sequencing. They knew exactly what they were doing.

Pleasantly surprised by the Tommy songs...wonder why songs like these and "Satellite" didn't make it onto Bash & Pop's debut. When I saw Bash & Pop in 1993, somebody called out for Satellite and Tommy rolled his eyes, saying, "That's ancient history...I'm sick of it."

Don't cut yourself on that edge, grandpa. Golly, did I run afoul of the censors? I take it back—nobody can pull off a decent Bob Stinson. Inimitable. You were censored?

Given the new Oscar diversity quotas Bob’ll have to be black. Or a lady. Don't cut yourself on that edge, grandpa.
