At the Memphis show in 2005, the lights were on, the show was had been over for at least 10-15 minutes and Paul came back out and sang "Alex Chilton"...to about 20 people. It was NUTS. So I get why people don't want to leave, you just never know.

Converse bringing free 5-night music festival to BostonOn Thursday morning the Massachusetts-based shoe company Converse will announce another significant addition to the city’s festival landscape: Converse Rubber Tracks Live Boston, a free five-night event set to take over the Sinclair, a club in Harvard Square. From April 27 through May 1 may perhaps be the only time fans will be able to see major acts such as alt-rock pioneers the Replacements, Boston-bred electro-pop sensations Passion Pit, thrash-metal titans Slayer, rap star Chance the Rapper, and punk-rock progenitors Descendents in a cozy venue that holds 525 people. All are acts that easily draw crowds triple that size. Tickets for Converse’s event will be distributed through a random, electronically chosen lottery. On Monday, starting at noon, hopeful attendees can register online at www.Converse-Music.com/boston and choose two tickets for one of the five nights. Registration will be open until noon on Wednesday, and beginning that night Converse will start notifying lucky ticketholders by e-mail. Lewis acknowledges there will be high interest in each night, enough so that hundreds of fans will be shut out. “From our past experience, we’re expecting thousands of registrants, and unfortunately the demand is going to outweigh the amount of tickets and space we have inside,” Lewis said. Converse Rubber Tracks Live Lineup April 27: The Replacements, Dinosaur Jr., the Young Leaves April 28: Passion Pit, Baths, Radclyffe Hall April 29: Slayer, Doomriders, Rozamov April 30: Chance the Rapper, Action Bronson, Michael Christmas May 1: Descendents, King Tuff, Bent Shapes

YES
Wayne Campbell: So, do you come to Milwaukee often?
Alice Cooper: Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers were coming here as early as the late 1600s to trade with the Native Americans.
Pete: In fact, isn't "Milwaukee" an Indian name?
Alice Cooper: Yes, Pete, it is. Actually, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."
Wayne Campbell: I was not aware of that.

I can't embed the video here but I shared a video of the Whole Food thing on FB. EDIT: Oh good lord, now it looks like it is embedded...carry on. the line about the girlish figure is too funny, btw Paul, Tommy and Dave, this is a very rock star skinny band.

20th Century Boy (with Dave Minehan on lead vocals), Bang a Gong and All Shook Down were played as a medley. Treatment Bound had the following lyrics: "The label wanted a hit, and I'm still working on it" and "Yesterday's trash, too fucking old to thrash." Paul sang "Androgynous" from the tent. Paul congratulated the Minnesota Twins for finally scoring a run. There was a snippet of "Maybeline" between "The Ledge and "Tommy Gets his Tonsils Out" and a snippet of "Iron Man" after "Kissin' In Action." "Lollipop" is the Millie Small song "My Boy Lollipop." "If Only You Were Lonely" was a request and abandoned after the opening verse/chorus. "Ghost on a Canvas" segued into Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" A fucking amazing show. So many unexpected delights. Can't wait to see them again in Portland tonight. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I mean, wow, so glad the show was amazing!

Saw on the news tonight the guy is in jail. That's good news, she's very brave going public with that and I hope she's feeling safer.

happy to hear about John in SF and LA. Truthfully, Exene has been off the rails lately. John's solo band with Cindy Wasserman will be great. Off the rails is putting it mildly. It's extremely rare for someone's views or actions to be such that it changes my ability to enjoy their music, films, what have you, but her support of the Sandy Hook deniers has affected my ability to enjoy X's music.

You might notice your avatar or another forum image being broken. This is because I was hosting those images somewhere and when I launched the new version of the site, it messed with a few of those hosted files. You can change your avatar by going to Profile (top menu) and then Edit Profile. I uploaded a bunch of new avatars.

It looks like DC and Chicago sold out pretty quickly. DC specifically seems to have sold out in less than 10 minutes.
