Nice! Just ordered from Rhino. You will need to login to your Rhino account to see the box set and the available bundles for pre-order.

Can’t wait, ahem, to hear the “Cello Version” of “Can’t Hardly Wait.” Also, immeasurable improvement in the cover art, agreed? No more incredible shrinking tin Willy Wonka hallway.

Pre-ordered, let’s hope Rhino doesn’t completely screw up the shipping this time.

Super excited! BUT I'm going to hold off on ordering just a beat to check with Rhino and Electric Fetus and make sure there isn't some version coming later with something like the extra flexi that was announced as coming from buying the Sorry Ma box from EF that was announced after the regular release of that box. I'll post whatever they say when I reach out!

I noticed the version of HCAR is a real early one, he was a Stranger still.

Sounds great, I can't wait to hear the rest of the tracks. 90 dollars though? Ouch. I remember only paying like 65 for their pleased to meet me release.

Dumb question, but are digital downloads included with this?

Just got the email from Rhino about Let It Bleed. Listened to the sample and the first thing I notice- the underwater echo sound is gone, has a drier sound, more definition in the instruments. Just pre-ordered.

Bob Mehr’s blurb—doesn’t differ much from the official info supplied by Rhino, but the last line is a fun nod to the fans. Hoping to glean some juicy tidbits from the man in the run up to 9/22. Also reached out to PW’s manager to inquire if pigs fly, etc. (i.e., any chance Paul will spill a word or two about the new boxed set?). The answer was a firm, “Nil.”

Thanks, everyone. You'll be so stoked come 9/22.
If you thought the remix of "Left of the Dial" was fantastic, then I can only imagine what y'all will say when you hear the rest of it as those new mixes are even more mind blowing than "Left of the Dial".
Hold My Life has guitar parts you've never heard before. Also, it tries to jump out of your speaker and choke you. I'll Buy again has parts you've never heard. I could imagine this version being in "One Crazy Summer" or some other 80's teen flick (that's a good thing). Kiss Me on the Bus (which came this close to being the first IG) has never sounded more elegant and beautiful. Much more acoustic and electric guitar parts. Dose of Thunder will throttle you. It's my favorite of all the new mixes. What was once thought to be a clunker has now become a joyous screamer with a Bob solo that is maybe the most chaotic thing ever released by a major label (second maybe to PiL or Mr. Bungle or Ween). Waitress in the Sky has harmonies you've never heard. It still has that ****kicker feel, but it just hits deeper. Swingin' Party (which also came this close to being the first IG) finally has the widescreen noir feel that was hidden behind the sheen of the original mix. Bastards of Young has more Bob guitar and is ever more anthemic than ever. I could hear this destroying Summer of 69 or The Hooters on the radio back in the day. It would've been huge. What a song. Lay It Down Clown has boogie woogie piano that was buried in the mix and extended slide parts. Left of the Dial - you've heard it. Little Mascara is extended by about 90 seconds and have infinite more Bob guitar. It's my second favorite of the new mixes. Here Comes a Regular has more piano and will rip your heart out again and again (it already did, but this one is THE one).

From Bob Mehr: "FYI, the Tim box offers best of all worlds presenting the most accurate sounding version of the orig. '85 Ramone mix too. Most fans been listening to a hollow digital master from '87 or the ‘08 remaster which boosted bass but lost all dynamics. New OG Tim remaster remedies that."

Electric Fetus told me though they don't have an exclusive like a flexi locked in like they did for Sorry Ma currently, "We're working every angle to make something happen". So, I'm going to sit tight on ordering the box for now.

Very interesting wrinkle, oreo137—thank you. Almost like we’re getting TWO new mixes then. Think the addition of new parts in the Stasium mix will transform Tim to the extent Wallace’s changes did for Dead Man’s Pop? “We’ll Inherit the Earth,” “They’re Blind,” etc. really evolved. A new tracklist for Tim would have been another fun curveball. How about a one-two punch of “Waitress” into “Left of the Dial”? End it with “Regular” into “Swinging Party.” Gives it a different sort of gravitas…

^^^^^^^^^^
Remixes and remasters are very different processes. Remixing takes the individual tracks on a multi-track master tape and readjusting volume, stereo L&R panning, EQ, effects. Let's assume they recorded on 16 track machines; 5 mics/tracks for drums, 1-2 for bass, maybe 3 for guitars, a couple for percussion, and 2-3 for vocals. Then having Stasium redo all of these tracks according to his muse. Remastering takes the final mix and embellishing the final mix, basically cleaning up the loudness, overall EQ, compression, etc.
All of the "new parts" are not added in, but brought up out of the original mix to a more prominent position in the mix. And the new remaster of Erdelyi's mix is just a clean up operation, just adjusting elements of the finished mix.
Obviously, I am more psyched over the Stasium remix. I'll bet his ears are in better shape than Erdelyi's, who used headphones instead of loudspeakers for his mix because of his hearing problems.

Right. The “new parts” are new takes, new meaning new to us. Maybe Stasium just pushed a fader up. Maybe he pulled them from different masters. Would be fun to pick his brain. Matt Wallace himself added drums/percussion on his remix of “They’re Blind.” Literally “new parts.” Maybe Stasium added “more piano” to “Regular.” Maybe Paul did. Almost like we’re getting TWO new records.
