I like the song quite a bit. Feels very comfortable and natural. Looking forward to this one!

FYI Tommy’s new Cowboys In the Campfire LP Wronger is out. Lil bit o’ twang. Loving the last three tracks— “Karma’s Bitch” and “Souls,” especially. Imagining a Paul & Tommy act in this vein. Wrongerer.

Wronger is outstanding and rewards repeated listens. I'm surprised more haven't commented here. It's truly excellent and his songwriting has never been better. He's really honed his craft and has proven to be such a major talent even as far back as "Friday Night is Killing Me."

I'm a lil' disappointed with it TBH. Listened 3 times and while it's pleasant it's falling way short of Anything Could Happen, which I thought was very good. Still hoping it grows on me.

“Schemes” is another standout for me. Would love to hear a Tommy record in the vein of Stereo/Mono or 49:00. Something really raw and earthy. He plays it pretty safe in terms of production values. Also, this Cowboys In the Campfire project has me imagining a Stinson/Tweedy collab. I always want what I can’t have.

I’m seeing Tommy solo tonight at a record store in Orange, CA called “Left of the Dial”. Only about 60 of us. Our own private show. He is looking kinda haggard, but sounds really great. Just a guy and his guitar. Later a woman joined him with violin and vocals - very nice. He told a story about playing with the Violent Femmes last night, for the first time since 1984. He said ‘84 was at the Dancetaria in NY. During Customer, Bob fell off a pretty high stage, right on his ass, but didn’t miss a note. Which he said was impressive, as they had painted extra dots on his fretboard. lol. He said you can hear it on the live recording.

I saw a post on his Instagram about that show last night, but didn't act on getting a ticket in time, would have loved to have been there for that.

Damn. Wish I could have gone to that last night. I had no idea he was in my area.
