I believe I got some of those tunes aforementioned as well. If I recall, Shopping Bag (or Diary) was part of the Mono/Stereo demos and it came to me with audio distortion, like the recording levels were a little too high.
I'd have to dig thru some external hard drives or DVD discs that should have them if anyone is looking for stuff. I have no idea what Pleasure of Your Company and Thoroughbred are from or if these were just Paul's home demos.

I’ve lost track of all the PW or pseudonym written recordings. There must be some of his written songs that are only “available” or heard from one live appearance (“Make the Best of Me“ from the Craft series event). It’s difficult to be certain all official releases and streaming songs from PW and his various pseudonyms are even in one list. Is there a link to what is or might be the most comprehensive list?

Discogs is probably the best one I know of. As far as I'm aware, even with all of those aliases, he mostly uses those for producing, art etc. and only put out actual music where he's singing under a few- -Mr. F "This Machine" 7'' single -Dry Wood Garage - 4 songs on bandcamp, 8 on Soundcloud as User 964848511 -PW And The Honky Heartattax for the track Old Money on For New Orleans benefit comp -Grandpaboy - EP, Mono, Dead Man Shake, Grandpaboy's Last Stand (free download with Mr. F Single) Speaking of which... I just went through and separated the tracks for Grandpaboy's Last Stand so you don't have to listen to it as one 35 minute clump! PM me if you're interested in that!
- Oh and if anyone has the "Grandpaboy's Last Stand Epilogue" track, (I just found out it got sent to people later as a bonus) I'm looking for that. Thanks!

With help from Robert, I've got most of the tracks I was looking for. The ones I'm still missing are: "Hey Kid" Mats "Promise You Nothing " Mats "Whatever Happened to Paul" (2002 NY Show) -PW Robert's theories on a couple of these are, - "Could "Promise You Nothing" be "I.O.U.?" I bet "Whatever Happened to Paul" is "O.D. Blues" from "Dead Man Shake." Anyone who's heard / has these have some insight? Also, I now have “Hard to Wave in Handcuffs” but the track indicates it's a PW track and not a Mats song coming from a collection called Unintentionally. Anyone know more on this track? - These last two, I'm pretty sure are not out there, but Paul has mentioned in interviews: "Pleasure Of Your Company" (Unreleased Demo) "Thoroughbred" (Unreleased Demo) I got to putting the PW rarities in chronological form and sorting out their lineage, since my plan is to make a up to date, proper rarities set, which I'll be glad to share. Here's the order as I have it:
Backlash (w/ Joan Jett) (Notorious LP) 91
Waiting For Somebody, Dyslexic Heart, Dyslexic Heart Demo, Waiting For Somebody [Score Acoustic], Blue Heart [Instrumental Version], Lost In Emily's Woods - Singles Soundtrack 92
Seein Her, Man Without Ties (World Class Fad 93) Can’t Hardly Wait, Left of the Dial, Another Girl, Another Planet, Answering Machine (live ’93 Whiskey a Go-Go, b-side World Class Fad) Dice Behind Your Shades (Festicle version, b-side of Knockin’ on Mine)93 Sunshine, Stain Yer Blood (Friends Soundtrack) 1994
A Star is Bored (Melrose Place Soundtrack) 94
“Lets Do It” Duet w Joan Jett 95 Tank Girl Make Your Own Kind of Music (Eventually Bonus Track Japan, BOB , Love Untold 96) **King of America, Cheyenne** King of America Promo CD Tracks 96 I Want My Money Back / Undone (Grandpaboy Single)97 Wonderful Copenhagen (Suicaine Gratification Bonus Track Europe) 98
33rd of July ((Suicaine Gratification Bonus Track Japan) 98
“Don't Go Out Into The Rain” w Laurie Lindeen 1998 Nowhere Man I Am Sam 2001
Diary aka Shopping Bag –PW 02 Mono Demos
“Positively 4th Street” Hard Rain Vol. 2 (A Tribute to Bob Dylan) Uncut Mag 02 **She Looks Like Rain, Any Trouble** 3 Track CD Promo 2002 Outta My System (Hot Stove, Cool Music) – 04 Be Bad For Me (Folker Bonus Track Europe) 04 "It Takes A Lot to Laugh..." Highway 61 Revisited, Revised Uncut Mag 05 Once Around the Weekend Alt Mix, All That I Had, Cmon Cmon Cmon (Besterberg) 05 “Old Money” as PW And The Honky Heartattax For New Orleans Benefit Comp 06 Wild As I Wanna Be (Replacement Version), I Belong (Piano/Vocal Version) (Songs from Open Season Vinyl 06 This Machine / Foolish Handshake 7’’ as Mr. F 2010 My Road Now (PW Site Self Released) 2012 One More Try w/ The Silks (Stones) 2013 ** The tracks from the 2 Promo CDs with the double stars aren't totally available ** A live version of Daydream Believer was on the PW rarities set from the Fuel Friends Blog and I have it, but doing some research, it doesn't seem to be a legit release, which would explain the sound being not great. There is an excellent sounding version on youtube from a Chicago 4th of July Show - www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjMDgj2TP1E If anyone happens to have that version, that'd be great! If not, I can rip the track.

Good call Bobb! I'm betting that is indeed the case! Once I wrap up the rarities set, and get the tracks separated for the live / exclusive DVD songs off of Come Feel Me Tremble, I think a radio sessions set and a live covers set are probably cool ideas, though those could be pretty deep rabbit holes to go down! velvetgefiltefish already hooked me up with a session from KCRW with No Place For You and All I Really Want To Do to get that ball rolling! On the Rarities front, Robert is hooking me up with a Stones cover Paul did with The Silks, a track where he backed up his now Ex- on a song, and Make the Best of Me. I'll Edit and update the rarities listing accordingly soon! As for Come Feel Me Tremble, I've got the sound ripped into a FLAC file, so that's a good start! Lots of snippets there and studio stuff mixed in, so it may be a bit of work, but it'll be worth it getting those tracks separated! According to Discogs the tracklist for the doc is :
Dirty Diesel Silent Film Star Boom Boom Out Go The Lights High Time Boring Enormous Itinerary Blues Hillbilly Junk Bye Bye Johnny Between Love And Like Don't Want Never Got You Down Waitin' For Somebody Eyes Like Sparks Psychopharmacology Born For Me Let The Bad Times Roll Soldier Of Misfortune Men Without Ties What A Day For A Night No Place For You Footsteps Valentine Crackle And Drag My Daydream Love Untold Wild And Lethal Unsatisfied One Of The Boys Looking Out Forever Can't Hardly Wait I Will Dare Left Of The Dial Alex Chilton Never Mind Meet Me Down The Alley Kickin' The Stall Everything Goes Wrong
If anyone knows which ones in particular are Exclusive or Live vs which are studio recordings, that'd be cool, but I can re-watch as I go through the FLAC file and figure it out if not. I'm probably going to just make the songs into 320 mp3s, though I will also make a FLAC version of Everything Goes Wrong since that's probably the one folks would want of it the most.

Robert messaged me that with 49:00 and Grandpaboy's Last Stand cut up into individual tracks, it'd be pretty cool to do with 3oclockreep too. I checked, and sure enough, even though I didn't remember it, I cut that up years ago too! If anyone wants any of those, let me know via PM!
I'm hoping to wrap the rarities set in the next day or 2 and to finish cutting up the tracks from the Come Feel Me Tremble DVD by the end of this coming weekend!

The Rarities Set is finished! I've titled it, The Long Resterberg The Tracks: Backlash (w/ Joan Jett) (Notorious LP) 91 Waiting For Somebody, Dyslexic Heart, Dyslexic Heart Demo, Waiting For Somebody [Score Acoustic], Blue Heart [Instrumental Version], Lost In Emily's Woods - Singles Soundtrack 92 Seein Her, Man Without Ties (World Class Fad 93) Can’t Hardly Wait, Left of the Dial, Another Girl, Another Planet, Answering Machine (live ’93 Whiskey a Go-Go, b-side World Class Fad) Dice Behind Your Shades (Festicle version, b-side of Knockin’ on Mine)93 Sunshine, Stain Yer Blood (Friends Soundtrack) 1994 A Star is Bored (Melrose Place Soundtrack) 94 “Lets Do It” Duet w Joan Jett 95 Tank Girl Make Your Own Kind of Music (Eventually Bonus Track Japan, BOB , Love Untold 96) **King of America, Cheyenne** King of America Promo CD Tracks 96 I Want My Money Back / Undone (Grandpaboy Single)97 Wonderful Copenhagen (Suicaine Gratification Bonus Track Europe) 98 33rd of July ((Suicaine Gratification Bonus Track Japan) 98 “Don't Go Out Into The Rain” w Laurie Lindeen 1998 Nowhere Man I Am Sam 2001 Diary aka Shopping Bag –PW 02 Mono Demos “Positively 4th Street” Hard Rain Vol. 2 (A Tribute to Bob Dylan) Uncut Mag 02 **She Looks Like Rain, Any Trouble** 3 Track CD Promo 2002 Everything Goes Wrong CFMT Doc Exclusive -03

I also now have the Individual Live and Exclusive Tracks from the Come Feel Me Tremble DVD completed!
Along with those, I have the following with ind individual tracks instead of one long file: 49:00, 3oclockreep, and Grandpaboy's Last Stand
PM me, and I can hook you up! Ideally, someone with a sendspace that gets these from me can post and make it easier for everyone to enjoy!
I'll probably get to working on a Radio Sessions set and a live rarities set soon too, so if you've got stuff to help with that, let me know!

Exciting news! I got contacted by the winner of the Promo CD auction on eBay last week who is someone from the boards and will be sending me the tracks to upgrade Cheyenne and add in King of America to the rarities set! They're also going to offer to trade the FLAC files to the person who has "She Looks Like Rain" and "Any Trouble", so fingers crossed on that!

funker, nice work doing the rarities compilation stuff. Just wanted to let you know that Paul sang lead on Two Tickets to Paradise for the Neighbors at a wedding gig. I dunno if you wanted to include this? My brother's college room mate was the band manager for the Neighbors, they played a wedding where Paul was in attendance. Link to an mp3 of that performance is on the Neighbors FB page: www.facebook.com/theneighborsdcI had mentioned this here in this thread, which has some more info: paulwesterberg.proboards.com/thread/661/random-replacements-sighting-day?page=159

Doubtful, but I also wonder if the mix on 33rd of July is in any way different to the Suicaine bonus track release. I would imagine it's the exact same in every way, but you never know. Also I wonder why the tail end of Cheyenne chops off on the copy I got, it's hard to imagine that not being done intentionally at some point by someone, but maybe it's that way on the CD? Probably not. Anyway, looking forward to all that. King of America is such a great track.

Here's something sort of interesting. Long story short, premium Soundcloud users can sometimes rip a 256kb/s file from the service v.s. the standard 128. I had a friend check the Dry Wood Garage first and he was able to get 256kb/s m4a's of half the tracks, which perhaps doesn't matter that much for this type of music but it beats the 128 mp3's that circulate from standard SC rips. mega.nz/folder/n5YWkT5J#bOlsEKJaiM2EsmRAfLkrOQ

Very cool FreeRider! Yes, for the live covers set I'm looking at doing it will fit perfect! Also very cool psychopharmacology! Thanks to both of you! I had someone point out to me that on 49:00 with the separated tracks, there's a quick clip of "Thoroughbred" right at the end of Visitor's Day! I did a bit of Googling about that song and came up with two very interesting things: It was initially slated to be on Folker and must've been pulled pretty late, as it's listed in this article not long before the album release- www.billboard.com/music/music-news/westerberg-looks-forward-to-folker-69093/ Also, you can get the full song, just not with Paul Signing. A group called Bird and Horse somehow covered the song for a single they did for Bandcamp! - birdandhorse.bandcamp.com/album/father-son-and-holy-ghost-thoroughbred-single Really, really good and well worth checking out! A weird bandcamp quirk, you can either buy each track for $1 or the "Album" of two tracks for $5.

Wow, that's an amazing find. And the song sounds fantastic. Really want to hear Paul's version now. This really gives me hope about a future PW release, i.e. if he was really saving this song for another album. Sure seems like a keeper.
