Eh...they're alright. He didn't really come into his own until "Trumpet Clip" though.

Grew up listening thier music. Still am. Today, I'll throw one of thier records on and go several days nonstop, maybe longer, esp. LIB & ASD and they still affect me the way they did in my teens, 20s & 30s.
I listen to much more solo Paul tho...49, S&M and just lately, Suicane.

Found this by total coincidence tonight. 1982. Beat Paul by a couple years. I wonder if Paul ever heard this or if it's just a happy accident of inspiration striking two oddballs around the same time? "You're either a genius or a clever thief, and I ain't a genius." Think Paul said that.

Wow! The Mats lifted the phone company snippet for Answering Machine. Nice find !! How the hell did you come across that? Haha I don't know how well known Bobb Trimble was back in '82 but knowing Paul had quirky tastes I wonder if he came across an LP of Harvest of Dreams at Oar Folkjokeopus and felt inspired? I came across Trimble's song "Take Me Home Vienna" (after reading the strange story of his backing band of pre-teens) and bought the Secretly Canadian reissue CD and about spit out my beer when I heard the infamous "If you'd like to make a call..."
