I'm really digging the new album. I think my favorite tracks are the two released ahead of time "On the Rocks" and "Never Wanted to Know." It's got a great, live spirit and a lot of fun lead guitar work. I think captures the feel of FNiKM and that puts it up as a favorite Tommy release.

I am digging the album, especially because it seems happy and upbeat!
I love Village Gorilla Head - truly great, tragic, beautiful songwriting - but it is very dark at the end of the day. Tommy seems to be enjoying his time doing the new stuff.
Hopefully him and Paul get together and record more songs soon!

I got the digital files via the pledge campaign last week (physical version not coming until March). I went to the Boston Bash & Pop show Saturday night. Great show, band was tight. Two questions:
Tommy mentioned that 2 members of the original B+P had passed away. Did he ever talk about why Earl was not involved (new guitarist is great BTW)
Tommy mentioned in a recent interview that they should have done more deep tracks on the Mats reunion tour (like "Nobody" and "Sixteen Blue.") Why didn't they? It's not like there was a record company or management putting pressure on them like back in the day.

Tommy mentioned that 2 members of the original B+P had passed away. Did he ever talk about why Earl was not involved (new guitarist is great BTW) Tommy Stinson’s Life of Hustle...and then with the guitar player we had, I had to try and explain to him how I wanted things done. Trying to explain to a really great guitar player how to not play great is really hard. So I ended up playing guitar as well. I ended up making the whole fucking record with just me and the drums. What we’ve done on Anything Could Happen is exactly what I wanted the first record to be. This is more of a Bash & Pop record in that regard.

Really loving the album too. On The Rocks, Not This Time, and Bad News are standouts to me.
If it takes the Replacements breaking up for us to get a new Bash & Pop album, then I'm all in favor of more breakups!

I am a fan of "Village G Head" too and really liked "One Man Mutiny", but I think this record may have staying power more than the others did for me. I still think "Friday Night.." is probably my favorite post-Mats record (love "Mono" too), although I am going to give "Anything Can Happen" a lot of spins!

Tommy needs a graphic designer.

Tommy needs a graphic designer. Is that a song suggestion? Tommy needs a graphic designer, Tommy needs a new recliner, He wants it to look sharp, He wants to be comfy, Bash & Pop only gets paid monthly. Do you think Ron Regal would like it? Can the kids dance to it?

Tommy needs a graphic designer. I know, as a Designer myself, I can't help but think how much his album art has kinda sucked.

What a great record! The first 8 tracks are all killer. The title track might be my favorite.

I love the record so far. I love all of Tommy's stuff so i knew i'd dig it but man, it's great.
Really excited to see them in March... Tommy hasn't played a show in LA (apart from the 'Mats and GNR) in over a decade i believe.

Loved the appearance on Colbert, going to have to fly out to SD to catch the band at the Casbah - that place is kinda small (maybe holds a couple hundred people) so gotta get tix now and hope I can get time of for the show.

P.S. Is it me or is Tommy totally drunk and / or on something? Geez it is the afternoon show. Great performance but something is going on with Tommy here.

I swear, I said something there, but maybe I just imagined that...But he is definitely fucked up...Drinking during the day was often fun, but it takes years off your life...Years...Like, twice as much as drinking after the sun goes down...I don't know, it just hits harder and makes you sicker...You're all wasted, and kids are getting out of school and people with real jobs are heading for a nice dinner, and maybe a couple of cocktails before being in bed by 11 p.m...And you have a really bad hangover at 6...You can do that shit when you're 19...Tommy's almost as old as me...He's gonna party through a radio show at 3, take a shower and a nap, and bring it in some club at 9? Hope there's still some coke around...
