If you were to put together the closest thing to a power pop album from PW's solo career what songs would be on it?

Strictly solo?
Knockin' On Mine World Class Fad First Glimmer Runaway Wind Seeing Her Ain't Got Me Love Untold Once Around the Weekend Time Flies Tomorrow Meet Me In the Meadow Love You In the Fall Better Than This Right to Arm Bears All About Me
I wouldn't include any of his "basement" recordings - as much as I love all of them - because I don't think they'd fit the somewhat nebulous term "power pop". Too blusey, too folky/country, too off-hand, too ragged, too unpolished, too something.
I think my list (re-shuffled a bit) would make a classic and killer "power pop" album.
EDIT: Best Thing That Never Happened and Fugitive Kind should be on it as well.

IMHO, "As Far As I Know" is just a brilliant slab of power pop rock, maybe Paul's best in that vein. I'd also include "High Time" "Love You In The Fall" and "AAA". Though acoustic-based, "Kentucky Risin" is power pop at heart, always loved that one. Same with "What A Day (For A Night)".

Same with "What A Day (For A Night)". This made me think of My Daydream which is pretty poppy and catchy. The basement recordings lack that locked in snappy back beat of power pop,but some songs work well. Also thinking Between Love And Like,Whatever Makes You Happy and Bad For Me. I guess the key would be to find ALL the songs that fit then narrow it down.

The basement recordings lack that locked in snappy back beat of power pop,but some songs work well. Yup, that's exactly what I was going for, as well as super bright major-key melodies that make you want to jump up and down on the bed and throw pillows and stuff. And yeah - how could I forget Stain Your Blood (a personal fave). Also I Want My Money Back and Hot'Un bash & pop mightily too.

Cool thread-
I agree with Chris, Kentucky Risin is a great song- gets stuck in my head all the time (..but then again, so does just about everything Paul writes..)

AAA, Daydream and Meet Me in the Meadow have to be there. Dyslexic Heart, also.
