I was waiting for a photo of my setlist to appear online. Magical show; perfect last show of this tour (or maybe not?) for me. Finally got Talent Show! So great. The vocals were crazy low for those of us in the front after Paul knocked over his mic stand & they switched to the other mic. Despite that, it was pretty damn perfect from start to finish. Paul walking offstage leaving Tommy & Dave to pick up vocal duties at the end of Never Mind was odd. Pretty sure Tommy thought he was coming right back, but Josh had to tell him Paul was gone! It was great to get an acoustic If Only You Were Lonely as well. Best crowd of the tour for sure as well. I was worried about the energy since it wasn't a sellout, but Denver fucking brought it.

I loved the ending of Never Mind; it was funny as hell watching Tommy and Dave look back at each other, trying to figure out what the hell to do. They stretched it out as long as the could before they gave in and finished it. I think maybe Paul just wanted something to drink, or maybe he had to hit the head. If so, glad he did it backstage.

My third time seeing the 21st century Replacements. Last time I was in the stands in St. Paul, this time I made it up to around the back of the infield at the Fillmore. Pulverizing show after Westerberg kicked over his microphone stand, then had to fetch a roadie to fix it. That seemed to kick start what had been kind of a business-as-usual start to the set. PW appeared somewhat hoarse, stepped back from the mic during a few songs. During the set-closing Never Mind, PW appeared to be attempting to re-tune his guitar during the song. After messing with it for a minute he walked offstage, pulling off his guitar as if to get a backup. Instead, he never returned! Crowd was definitely into the performance from my vantage point - didn't see anybody standing around trying to talk over the band for once!

And for those keeping track of Westerberg's t-shirt message, tonight's letter for the fans was "A". I never got a clear view of the back, except it seemed to be bright orange.

The back was a glow-in-the-dark 'U'.
They also played 'Wake Up', which isn't on the set-list above. Early on, the started a song, effed up, and then stopped. They said it was a new one; maybe it was 'F-Hole', lol.

Did Paul have the Dan Armstrong guitar before this current tour? I can't recall seeing it. I wonder which guitar is the "cream" one.

Here is a video of Treatment Bound (one of my favorites from the night). The video quality is so-so, but I think the sound is alright. I'll upload more as I get the chance.

I first saw him play that in `87. I think the one Paul has now is new. I remember hearing the other one was smashed during the recoding of DTAS. I haven't missed a tour since & also have not seen him use one of these since the PTMM tour until this tour opener in Seattle.

Did Paul have the Dan Armstrong guitar before this current tour? I can't recall seeing it. I wonder which guitar is the "cream" one. From an old article on the recording of Pleased To Meet Me: "For the whole record, Paul was playing a black Les Paul with P-90s. Then, one day, they got their artist advance from Warner Bros. Across the street from Ardent was this place called Pyramid Guitars, owned by my friend Rick Rayburn, who was a collector. He sold some really sweet pieces—he had some killer vintage stuff, and Paul went over there and got a clear plexiglas Dan Armstrong with the replaceable pickups, so he came back over with one of those. So the guitar was mostly Les Paul on the tracks, but he picked up the See-Through a few times for coloration." www2.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Features/en-us/torn-and-frayed-the-story-of-.aspx

It's amazing he has held onto that guitar all this time, espcially with his penchant for destroying them.
