anyone know of a good hotel within walking distance of the Pier? There's a relatively new Hyatt on Penn's Landing (waterfront area that houses the pier venue). As a cheaper option, there's a Penn's Landing Holiday Inn. I can't imagine getting any closer than those. N

Anyone here going tonight? Yes, headed there. Apparently there is some kind of pre-show meetup for Mats fans at Khyber Pass Pub at 5:00pm if anyone is interested. I may try to check it out.

What a show! What a night! What a band! An impromptu "Hold My Life"? ""Unsatisfied" as the 2nd encore? Not much else I could ask for. They sounded awesome. Paul was totally into the show. Yeah, he flubbed lyrics, but that's what the audience was there for. Josh is such an amazing drummer. Thank you to whoever it was it the front row that badgered the past few shows to play "Hold My Life". Of course, after they were done, Paul quipped. "and that closes that can of worms on the request part of the show". Of course, they later asked the audience would they rather hear "Androgynous" or "Seen Your Video", and decided that Paul and Dave would play the former, while Tommy and Josh would play the latter. It was both bizarre and fun. Just amazing to hear those songs live and with purpose again. They even did a killer version of Sham 69's "Borstal Breakout". So much fun. I feel bad for Columbus and Pittsburgh, because, if any of you jad been waiting 28 years like I did to see them again, and you missed out on what I saw last night, then you missed something amazing.

I think I'm in the minority since I enjoyed DC more than Philly, but that's ok. Both shows were fantastic! Great way to end the US run for now. "Election Day" was completely random & I loved it! Superchunk were fantastic as always. I got lucky & somehow managed to catch Paul's setlist with Treatment Bound (though they didn't play it!) & I Don't Know added by Chief last minute. I shot Unsatisfied from the rail hoping that it'd be the new song they played in DC or another new song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=js2kPLogS3M&spfreload=10

Saw them in Austin and although I loved the show it doesn't even compare to last night. The entire audience was into the show and the band was as well. I don't even know if I have the words to describe the difference. Although there were tons of Mats fans at ACL, to have an entire audience singing along with the band was incredible…I never wanted it to end. Loved seeing all the teenagers and talked to a 15 year old boy who told me it was his first concert. He couldn't have picked a better one. t cannot wait to see them again!!!
