I've seen 7 shows so far on this reunion tour (plus a couple of shows in the 80's) and this show was in the top 2 or 3! The show was amazing, and it was so great to see them in a theater again! All the reunion shows so far have been outdoors with large stage set-ups and the generally poor sound you get from an outdoor venue. This was a lot like when I saw them at the Beacon Theater in NY in 1987 and again in 1989. They were having fun, interacting with the crowd, laughing a lot, taking requests (and actually playing the requested songs), and they played just under 90 minutes which is more than almost any other festival show and just a little short of the NY and St. Paul headline shows that I went to during the past 2 weeks. The rain and wind were apparently a nightmare for some to deal with earlier in the day but by the time my friends and I got there from LA, the show had already been moved indoors which meant we didn't get rained on at all. It also meant we got to see them in a small theater setting with for the most part only their actual fans sticking around for their set (most of the people walked away after their favorite band and once you left you could not return so all the Bitchfoot and Baking Crack Funday fan-children had left by the time the Mats come on) and they also played extra songs to make up for the earlier disaster. I guess this was one time when it paid to arrive later rather than earlier cause we missed all the headache and only reaped the benefits of the change of plans. The Decendents were a fun band to see right before the Mats came out and it was nice to listen to them and be able to wash away the scent of plastic poser punk with some legit punk music to get the crowd in the mood to see the Mats. The show also had some great song selection and they busted out a few tunes they rarely play (Little Mascara, Another Girl Another Planet, If Only You Were Lonely, Unsatisfied). I give it a 9 out of 10. It might have even rang the 10 out of 10 bell if it was just a little longer (Maybe 100 minutes) and if Paul's mic had not been off for a song and a half, but these are very minor complaints. Awesome night all around!

It was incredible. I have seen them countless times. All line-ups. All of Paul's solo tours. I have loved this band since 1984. This show was a dream come true. The whole festival thing was leaving me with such a bad taste in my mouth, but luckily I decided to go to St. Paul and, luckily, Tempe. I am so glad I did. I felt 17 again. What an amazing night.

Sounds like another great show! Seems like Paul actually enjoys playing Unsatisfied; rather than the "I'm not doing that one" attitude he had for years. I've seen this repeated a few times, but must admit I don't get it. Paul played "Unstisfied" at no less than 3 of the half dozen or so shows I saw in 2002... definitely at least in Indy, Brooklyn & the last night in NYC at a minimum.

I saw your pink hair in some of the clips. If I wasn't gay, I might ask for your number.

A little late, but here are some videos I took at the show:
Valentine
Androgynous
A Little Mascara
Left of the Dial
Alex Chilton
I miss that security dude; I must've stood in front of him for 6 hours.
I'm uploading I Will Dare now (my last video), and will post when it's ready.
I Will Dare

She walked right by me and I instantly recognized her, told my Sis and my Daughter that I knew her form the Westerberg board, they said she was cute, I agreed.
