Nice piece on the reunion by Chris Riemenschneider "And they have songs. Oh, those songs. Really, the best thing about these shows has simply been hearing the tunes played live again. Westerberg could be out with a band half as good this one — and the old Replacements themselves were that on many a night — and it’d still be a thrill to hear him singing his unsung classics for a new generation."

Not any of our business, imo

I have an acquaintance who works for a booking agency and I totally believe the $300k amount. A total guess but I'd say gigs like Riot Fest were most likely around $75-100k each.

Hmmm, interesting. I don't know how a band as a LLC or LTD works, but I remember Paul saying that he never dissolved the band, even when Tommy gave his official legal notice he was quitting. And so does that mean that Slim and Chris are still a part of the band? Do the other members have to "buy" out another person's stake of royalties, etc...? If Slim is still a partner in the band, then the money is not just for Paul and Tommy's financial security but is also security for Slim and Chrissie to pay for Slim's constant health care needs. And that's cool with me too!

I am the first one to shut down any speculation on his private life that I think is mean-spirited or is revealing something he hasn't talked about himself. I don't think some casual discussion of a fact that he was clearly ok with revealing to a national publication is crossing any boundaries.

I'm guessing Kathy is talking about the Rolling Stone article since I don't really think the Star Tribune counts as a national publication.
Anyway, anyone who actually read the RS article care to share what it says? Was it an interview?

Yes it was an interview. Paul and tommy both and are very sweet to each other, and they mention a new record most likely sometime...

Well shit. Now I guess I have to go out and actually purchase a physical copy of RS for the first time in like 15 years.

This bit about the movie Boyhood and Ethan Hawke's "Black Album" seems appropriate now: Black Album

ok, well if it's something revealed by Paul himself, then it's in the open. Still, I'm not one for wanting to get into the guy's personal life on matters such as this. it's only of interest to me if it affects his art and work somehow.
Anyway, it's great to hear that they're going to release some new material. I'm curious to know how they feel about the reunion gigs so far. I guess I'll have to get to the news stand as well and take a look
