hmmm, if I don't make the Atlanta festival, Boston might be a good choice for me. By then, I should be able to save up some money after I just went through some unexpected car repairs and then some long needed home improvement stuff. Ah, hell, maybe I should just splurge and go see both shows! So I'll eat PB&J and soup for a month....

Any word on when the Sunday (1 day pass) goes on sale? According to an email I received from Boston Calling: today at 10 a.m.!! "Single day Saturday & Sunday are $75GA, and $185VIP." fall.bostoncalling.com/tickets?camefrom=EMCL_303152_14038422I really didn't think they'd be offering single-day weekend tickets. It's nice to have my procrastination pay off for once.

awesome!!! I'm also hoping that maybe they play Philly like Tommy suggested in the interview with Matt Pinfield? That would be much closer for me and cheaper, as it's like a 2.5 hour drive for me.

The VIp tickets for Sunday is basically $200 (with the 'convenience' charge). Those private bathrooms better be fricking awesome.

Well, I get to see a full headlining set for $50. So it's not "everywhere".

Slightly off topic. But I recently heard Tommy is playing a show with the Old 97s on Cape Cod this summer.. not super close but also not super far for anyone in the Boston area..

any hotel recommendations for Boston? Looks pretty expensive in the downtown area.

It is expensive downtown, I don't have any specific hotels to recommend but the T system is good (unless you want to be out really late) so you don't necessarily need to stay near City Hall Plaza, you could stay in another location that is close to a t-stop.

Any word on if Billie Joe Armstrong will be joining Paul and Tommy and company again? I would so love to see that combination!

Thanks, Kathy...my brother might come on the trip with me; if so, we can split an expensive room downtown. Or else we, or I, may stay somewhere in Cambridge? That shouldn't be too far from downtown via the T, judging from a map. (My brother went to school in Boston many years ago and he can see some friends up there too). Anybody else making it to the Boston show?

I second Kathy's opinion. Its not a very late show - you could finish watching their set and just catch the T afterwards to somewhere a little cheaper that isn't right downtown. I don't have any specific recommendations though, I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel in Boston.. but there should be plenty of options.

thanks for the info, timx....that's right, they're slated to go on at 8:30, I believe, so there won't be a rush to get to the subway before it closes or anything. I'm thinking maybe Cambridge, or even Medford.
