So much self loathing coursing through my body... but I caved & purchased a damn pass. Now announce some more shows, boys, so I can make some Coachella fan without a ticket very happy.

So, so, so very happy that Paul and Tommy are finally making some money from their prodigious talent. So, so, so very happy that I was lucky enough to get to see them at Riot Fest here, relativey close to my home (That two hour roundtrip and the shuttle-free parking in the boonies wasn't so bad after all).
I would love to see them in Coachella. I could stop in at my bro's brew pub near Bakersfield, drive down to San Diego to see my Mom and two of the sisters, hang out with Thibs and Arana, Rob & Carissa...maybe even visit the ex-wife in Colton...no...I think I'll just have to live with the wonderful memories of Riot Fest in beautiful Strasburg.

I guess the only thing that kinda bothers me about this whole thing is the idea of a bunch of 19-year-old kids in baggy shorts and nipple rings standing around going: "Who the fuck are these old guys?" Didn't Paul once have a similar experience at some goofy outdoor event during the "Eventually" tour? Wasn't it the reason he didn't play live again for something like ten years?

So, so, so very happy that Paul and Tommy are finally making some money from their prodigious talent. I think the perception that they haven't been making any money up to this point is wrong. I mean Tommy has been pulling in six figures a year for almost 15 years with GnR. And Paul is obviously comfortable enough to not do anything at all for long stretches of time. I'm sure Coachella pays well, but it's not like it's their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. A few dates in Rio with Guns probably pays just as much for Tommy.

Is it just me, or does it seem like GnR play a lot of dates in South America? In fact, it seems like South America is always ten, or even twenty years, behind...These old late 80's, or early 90's, or early 00's bands are always playing before stadium crowds of 100,000 people...It's the Las Vegas of hard rock...

Was toying with the idea of flying out from NJ but was doing some research on the festival and it seems like a clusterphuck. Ticket prices to me seem high......hotels are not really in area and are somewhat expensive for what appears to be lower level hotels.
That being said, some great bands are playing (Queens Of The Stone Age!)....will try to catch webcasts.

I suppose I could go, but after ticket, plane ticket, hotel, I might as well go to like Europe for a week. But have fun everyone.
