It's probably just rubbing salt in the wounds, but it was really that good. The reunion was announced and tickets went on sale while I was on vacation in Mexico which meant bad timing both logistically and financially. I spent the summer convincing myself that it wouldn't be that great, and then it would probably just be one of many shows (like when I nearly killed myself to see the first Pixies reunion) and in the end convinced myself that, if nothing else, I would have a lot of fun years commiserating over how I missed my one chance. Then for my birthday my wife got us tickets and we planned our trip a mere weeks before the show. This whole week I've come to this board each morning while listening to the early albums at work and felt really lucky that I got to see the show.
I play in bands and see shows every week, both big and small shows, and nothing compares to it. I was listening to the bootleg this morning and when Paul fumbled some lyrics it made me happy that I saw the very first show because the next two might not have the same charm.

I broke down the other week and tried to get a ticket to the Denver show. They didn't take my debit card, so no ticket. I am kind of homeless now, so I shouldn't be thinking about it, but I can't help it. Been a long 30 years. : (
