Any idea when they will announce when the Replacements will play that Sunday in Toronto? It has been a long time since I went to a "music festival" and while I am sure some of the younger bands are very good I don't think I have the desire to sit through too many of them. Ideally it will work out to see Iggy & The Stooges, Dinosaur Jr, The Replacements and then head out. The "music festival" venue is less than appealing so I am hoping to be able to come up with a solid plan for the day.

I feel the same. Plus I'd rather spend time in a bar paying bar prices than festival booze prices. Ideally, I'd like to get there to ogle Beth C. and be one of 1,00 guys (and girls) shouting "I love you!", but I could be persuaded. As for getting there early to get a good spot I also am ambivalent maybe because I'm also too old for that. Just being there would be enough. Also, I have visions, albeit irrational of another Who 12/3/79.

I wouldn't be as concerned with getting a prime spot but I went to the amphitheater last week to see Wilco and Dylan...as good of a set as it was, the distance from the stage really softened the experience.

I'm guessing they'll play after dark? 9-10pm? Actually, I really don't care since we are staying over that night and leaving Monday....they can play at midnight for all I care! As for where to post up in the VIP area,,,gotta play that by ear, I guess. We get into town on Saturday, so hopefully I can get a feel for the best time and place to head on Sunday. My fiancée and I aren't big drinkers (actually I used to be), so the need to refill beers and get to the porta-johns is not really an issue....a bottle of water for both of us will keep us going for a long time. I do want to make sure I have a great view of the stage for the Mats, though...

I want to get there fairly early to get a good spot, but I definitely don't want to be standing up for 10 hours waiting. I'm not as youthful as I once thought I was.

I guess a more specific question is when (what time) they might take the stage. If they go on last anyone have a clue when that might be? I'm not looking for an exact time but a 2-3 hour window would be great.

We are 17 days away. It's difficult to overstate the enormity of the occasion.
I previously thought RFTC was done for good. Arguably the most intense and consistent live act of the 90s and 00s. Tremendous catalog that stands up.
What more needs to be said of the Stooges? Find the Creem DVD of the reunion show in Detroit.
Then the Mats?!? It will be an incredible, exhausting day to remember. I'm jacked already.

I'm not looking for an exact time but a 2-3 hour window would be great. I sent a message through the RiotFest 'contact us' page tonight asking if they had expected times or a hard curfew. I will let you know if I get an answer. If I had to guess a 3 hour window, I'd guess 9-12.

Riot Fest organizers stated on Twitter that a specific schedule will be released soon. A response to a recent question suggested that the show will be over at 10:30 p.m., although it was unclear if he was referring solely to the Chicago date.

I got a response today saying Toronto was scheduled to end by 11pm each night (though we can always assume things like this run a bit late).

I just know I'll be tired by the time I drive down to Toronto, work my way through the city, find the hotel, get settled in, meet my buddies, etc etc. I'm a small town boy so the whole driving around in the metropolis thing is a little intimidating. I've been trying not to think about the show too much because it'll just make the time drag, I'm way too excited. I check my tickets every second day to make sure I bought them for the right day. haha

SG jr...love your picture of Saint Andrews. Some of my favorite shows have been there including the Paul Westerberg 14 songs tour. Grant Lee Buffalo opened up that show. It was an awesome show.

Toronto set times are now posted here: toronto.riotfest.org/events/2013/08/24/The Mats are on from 8:45 to 10:00 p.m. Thanks, smp. St. Andrews may be my all-time favorite venue. I saw that same show (plus same tour in Chicago at the Metro). GLB was incredible, too.
