What tour/album/year would you have liked to have seen the mats?
I guess for me it would be Tim '85/86 because Bob was still in the band and it was the most material they had to draw from while he was still in the group.Plus I really like Tim!

I like the way you think, Dee. I DID see them then .. Feb. 1986 in NYC, have lost track what venue. And that was EXACTLY what I thought while they were playing ... that they'd reached the point where they had a monumental catalog of songs to draw from.

Fall of 1985 and the first couple months of '86. The bootlegs of that time period kick ass. They appeared on SNL too in January so that was probably the band's peak.
But that said, we don't know what was going on inside the band at that time. I've heard Chris say (in print) that the 1983 tour was the best as they were having fun and really liked each other's company still.
