I was upset that Ghost On The Canvas was not mentioned in this year's Grammys until I read that only albums released between Oct. 1, 2010 and Sept. 30, 2011 fall within the qualifying period. I wonder how Mumford & Sons got nominated for their song “The Cave” from the album “Sigh No More”; it was released in February 2010? Anyway, maybe GOTC will be nominated in 2013. So this year, my vote goes to Kanye Twitty! P.S. Paul does look mighty fine in that video **** Oops! GOTC did qualify. The release date was August 29, 2011! Still...if they can put Mumford & Sons in this year, maybe they will do the same for Glen next year. Assuming that GOTC would be nominated for anything like best country song, that would be pretty cool and interesting if Paul gets more acclaim stemming from a pop/country artist category than from what he is/was known for in rock! And it makes me wonder if other artists, be it country or what have you, would then seek him out for song contributions....or go back and discover Paul's catalog and would want to do covers. I mean, I always thought that "Achin' To Be" would have been covered by some country artist by now...

Achin' To Be would be a good country song! These days, it is getting harder to differentiate between the various genres of music. Amazon had George Harrison's Living In The Material World under the Folk category today. Some country and folk artists are now classified as Indie or Americana. It is interesting that it has been the so called country artists that have had the most success with his songs (Campbell & Earle).

Any chance that GOTC might receive some nominations in next year's CMA awards? Not sure what the timeline is like for those...Can't imagine it competing against "country" like Sugarland and Taylor Swift, but these awards are notorious for belated honors to last-lap nominees like Johnny Cash, and, in this case, Campbell...I think it'd be nice if Glen got some mention, and, indirectly, Paul...

Sure hope so. That would be most excellent.
