You are planning a romantic night in, and the person is really important to you. You need to have the perfect music playing to make her (him?) "in the mood". Now, to make the CD. What songs would you put on there? It doesn't have to be all Westerberg but has to have at least one - Born For Me.
Suggest as many songs as you want, one or 20! I think 19 or 20 songs would be enough to fill an audio disc.

Hmm. First, find out what they hate and don't put it on there! You are off to a good start with Born For Me.
I would add:
Ryan Adams ~ When The Stars Go Blue Bob Dylan ~ Emotionally Yours Neil Young ~ Harvest Moon

Nice one Racoon!!
Here are some serious selections that I'd recommend and always make me think of my amazing wife - John Fogerty - Joy Of My Life Alejandro Escovedo - Fall Apart With You Matthew Sweet - I Wanted To Tell You, more on the rocking side, but the sentiment is definitely there in the lyrics. Old 97's - Question The Beatles - Things We Said Today

I really like these suggestions and will burn a cd or two using this list. Some songs I had to look up because I wasn’t familiar with them. The songs I bought today were
John Fogerty - Joy Of My Life Alejandro Escovedo - Fall Apart With You Tom Waits - I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You (I had the 10,000 maniacs version) Amy Winehouse - Teach Me Tonight Alison Scott - How Do You Know Plain White Ts - Hey There Delilah The Babys- Every Time I Think of You
Most of the other songs I already have so I didn’t need to download them. Ryan Adams “When The Stars Go Blue is simply beautiful. Love the 2 Dylan numbers too!
Thanks for the help and for introducing me to something new. I tend to get in a rut and put the same songs on over and over or the same artists. You all have great taste! I thought you would because of the Westerberg connection.
Raccoon - I'll use that Pretenders number another day!

I'll go the anti-romantic route just to keep things lively;
1. Love Untold 2. Things 3. My Dad (what woman doesn't want to think of your dad while getting romantic?) 4. MamaDaddydid 5. Gary's Got a Boner ...and for after sex music, 6. Unsatisfied

Vidocq - Thanks for the kind words. Sorry about the Pretenders thing. My second choice was gonna be 'I Wanna Be Your Dog'!!
I'm liking your nickname. You must be a student of either French Literature (Gaboriau, Balzac..) or a detective! Which is it??
ps- I always cheat and just put on some Van Morrison if all else fails !!

"Born for Me" will always be the number one song that way for my wife and I. We both told Paul at the steps of his bus that it was our favorite song of his and he said, "That's one of the best songs I ever wrote" and signed the inside cover of our Suicaine Gratifaction CD "Born For Me, Paul westerberg".
Oddly enough, number two is Pearl Jam's "Come Back". It really is a good love song if you've been there and back. Great for slow dancing.

Put "Whatever Makes You Happy" with the anti's, if anyone's listening to lyrics. Also has vomit.

No need to apologize about the Pretenders. Not a bad idea actually, eventually! Van Morrison is always a good choice. He has some great songs. As far as my nickname goes, I didn't put alot of thought into it. I was watching TV and heard about the Vidocq Society. They explained who Vidocq was and his contributions to forensics. So that was in my head when I created my account. It appears that you might be into French literature though. I've never heard of the authors you mentioned! In time you will see that I'm not really too smart!
