I sure hope so Andre. I'm an obstinate and outspoken advocate for the warmth and superior sound of music on vinyl. All of the 'Mats output and Paul's Deadman Shake sound better on the analog format (and I wish the rest of the P.W. catalog had been released on vinyl). I'm really mind blown that I'm in such small company on this issue. (Sorry digital fans- no offense intended.) Hell, I can't even play the CD of that marvelous recording, 49:00, that my brother downloaded for me (thanks, Bro!) in the car because it skips everytime I hit a pea sized pebble in the road and the damn thing will probably degrade faster than over-ripe fruit on a hot day.
Speaking of vinyl, I loved Crawdaddy's review of 49:00 and the suggestion to download, remaster and press it on vinyl. That too would be most lovely.
Long live vinyl!

seems it would have to be on double LPs to get the bonus tracks to fit. I don't see that happening.

I doubt any current releases or re-issues will be pressed in vinyl - at least not in the very near future. LPs are currently making a comeback and getting alot of positive press, but I believe it's unlikely that the "powers that be" will justify re-releasing vinyl format offerings that are also low volume sellers. But that's just my opinion, mind you.
BTW, TwinTone is still selling NOS 'Mats LPs off their website for $15 an LP. Still available - Hootenanny, I Will Dare 12", and Stink. For those that are interested, go to the Artist link and click on The Replacements then click on discography and the particular album and you'll find the add to cart option at the bottom of the page.
A few years ago, I bought Sorry Ma, Stink, Hootenanny, and Let It Be all on vinyl - all NOS & still sealed from twintone. Guess I lucked out.

FWIW, Paul was/is a big advocate of the double album format [ stereo / mono ] and if he had say so in the matter, I believe he would make more of his solo stuff accessible on vinyl. I personally would like to see the re-issues and the pending boxset or live set or whatever-it-will-be 'Mats compilation offered in vinyl.

According to Amazon, Tim and PTMM are both being re-released on vinyl next month. Looks like these are "as is" releases with no extra tracks, but maybe they are remixed versions? Going for $18/per.

I bought both of these vinyls the day they came out, Tim works fine, but PTMM skips something horrible. At first I thought it was because I got drunk and left it in the car on a cold night without thinking, but recently a friend of mine bought one from the same place and his copy skips even worse than mine does! Pressing error maybe? Or bad business.

Often a thorough cleaning with a good vinyl cleaning system helps. If your turntable is adjustable try checking your tracking weight, the bias adjustment (or anti-skating device) and cartridge alignment. Good luck!

i've got a bunch of mats albums on vinyl, and they are wonderful. i think mine are original pressings minus the clear blue vinyl reissue of 'lib'.
the westerberg catalog will probably never be released on vinyl except for niche albums like 'dms'.
