I went to the taping and it was a bit strange because they had Paul play first. Apparently, his performance is going to be on a future broadcast and not tonight. Anyways, they played "As Far As I Know, which was what I guessed they would play. Some girl in line with me said that she heard he was going to play "If Only You Were Lonely". That would have been great! I imagined someone unfamiliar with Paul hearing it and trying to find it at the store. Like "Here is a song that you can't get anywhere. Enjoy!!" I would have loved that. I was still happy though and I was about 5 feet away from the band. I lucked out and got a front row seat. Paul definitely forgot a good amount of lyrics but the band rocks so hard that if you don't know the song you'd never really know. That song just comes alive after the first verse when Michael Bland kicks up the drums.
So, take note, no Westerberg on Late Late Show tonight. I'm sure they will post when they will air it. Brad

Dunno about other shows, but the Late Late Show always tapes the musical guest segment first - going back to the days when Kilborn hosted, even. I guess they don't wanna make the audience wait while the bands set up...

I guess they don't wanna make the audience wait while the bands set up... I did not know that. The set is so small that I guess that makes sense to have the band set up first. I didn't realize that though so it threw me off. I was very happy to see Paul first though. Did I mention that the audience gave him a standing "O". I don't know if they ALWAYS do that for the musical guests but I think there were a lot of Paul fans there. I did get sat next to a tourist that had no idea who Paul was, who the guests were, and who the host was. They just came because someone gave them free tickets at beach or something. But they seemed to really enjoy Paul's performance also so I cut them some slack. Of course, on those shows, you're encouraged to like EVERYTHING but I think it was genuine.

I got to say that this mesage board depresses me sometimes. Everytime I start a thread I get next to no responses. Everytime I respond to a thread I'm the last one and no one does after me. Is it me? Do people just not like me on this thing? I'll write something from my heart then a couple days late I'll look for some kind of response. Nothing. Always.
God, I'm a loser.

We all go thru our "threadkilla" phase. This too shall pass. Start a thread about how awesome Def Leppard is and I know you'll get at least one response

Brad, don't worry about it and don't take it personally. It's happened to me as well on other boards, sometimes here. But usually, when I get no response it's because the thread has already run its course by the time I get around to posting my two cents worth. Two days late and more than a dollar short, ya know? If you really were a loser, nobody would've responded to your post here in this thread. So, don't feel like you need to throw a rope with a noose over the roof beam in the garage, dude! Just keep posting.

I read almost every thread whether I respond to it or not.
Sometimes there's really not much to say about a show or appearance you didn't attend.
I'm itching to see him in his quasi-unabomber outfit. I'm sure the Late, Late Show's security people loved it.

According to Yahoo, Amy Brenneman will be on the show that night as well. Do you think all of her fans are obsessing about her appearance on the LATE, LATE SHOW on her fan site, which I assume is called "Woman Without Robes" or "WWR"?

So See brad, all ya gotta do is mention def leppard! Or if you want a sure-fire response from me say something about the Alarm!
Anyway - saw the Alarm on the late, late show a couple of months ago and they played first as well. Caught us all off guard.
See Brad - you're not alone out here.
(And the "threadkilla" line cracked me up).
mitch
Now put your little hand inside the register and give me back my two dollars and ninety-fice cents please, Brad.

Thanks everyone who responded to my depression. I just got back from waiting tables all day and I needed that postive feedback. Thanks again. I will now be headed over to Misc. to start my thread about the subtleties of "Pour Some Sugar On Me". Brad

After Paul played I just wanted get out of there. I thought Craig Ferguson is much funnier on his own without reading cue cards. I talked to someone who hung out with Paul in the green room and said the Whiskey was in full effect. And this was around 4:30. He's definitely knockin em back.

After Paul played I just wanted get out of there. . Me too. That was the big drawback of seeing him first. If he would have played at the end the anticipation would have made it more exciting for me I think. I also had a fantasy that Craig Ferguson would be a big Paul fan and he'd play a couple songs. I knew there was no way this would happen but I like to dream. It really sucks that a lot of Paul fans were there and I was sat next to a girl who didn't even know who Don King was. I would have enjoyed talking to you guys a lot more.
