Is there a book out that is the definitive story about PW and the Mats? Im a big fan but apart from Bobs drugs and the crazy stage shows I no almost nothing about any of them or how they met and growing up etc etc.
Any info or book suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You won't find much.
There is a goldmine article which is okay but full of typos. A village voice article that was good, but the band dis-owned. A Musician article that was pretty cool but by then Slim was in the band. A few random Spin blurbs. A chapter in an indie rock book called by M. Azzerad.
The legend is safely stowed away in the minds of those who witnessed it. It can't hurt to ask around these parts.
There is a link that someone here I am sure can supply to a site called The Forshay Tower which has most of the articles on the band archived. There was not a tremedous amount of press given to the Replacements despite what this Marc guy says about how Rolling Stone loved them.

Try to be polite and helpful and you just get mocked.
My day is spiraling down the big hill quickly.
I was informed I sound gay on the phone.
I had a knock down drag out with my business partner.
AND I put an R in Foshay.
Ima go live in the dumpster. Maybe forever.

im going to delete my last post. I should be criticized for not doing a refresh before posting. oh, the horror. darling. there is no way you could sound gay (or southern ala truman capote). you write with a lovely (and positively) masculine style.... (so, this why you pretend to be into basketball?)

The studded leather jacket grabbed my attention as well. Plus the actual Bob Stinson hairstyle.
Hey, at least you don't sound gay..... If I could find my purse I would run to the bank...

Plus the actual Bob Stinson hairstyle. "Skin style" is more like it. Thanks for putting it in that context now. i am going to call it a "Bob" from now on.
