But I got the feeling -because the start of the show had so much buildup- that they were planning a reunion up until the very last second. The "everyone couldn't get their schedules to jive" excuse doesn't jive so much with me. I almost wonder if they got most of them in the same place and it went to hell. And then Squeeze wouldn't sign off on that "ending."
I dunno, just a conspiracy theory.

Didn't it seem like Chris showed up, but that was about it? He made the comment about expecting the rest of the band to come through the back door. It would be a shame if he and Tilbrook at least didn't make an effort to become friendly at least.
An aside, what did you think when you saw Tilbrook playing solo at that club in NYC. Looked familiar to me.

I wacthed the Alarm today, that was a nice one. I liked the guy who was working in the PD's office in San Francisco. They all seemed like good guys.
I don't know why they feel they have to ambush these people like they are criminals being hunted down on a 60 Minutes expose or something though, they make quite the commotion. I picture every faded 80s pop band member sitting around thier house or job either hoping or fearing a manic camera crew is about to appear.
k.

Looked familiar to me. That's exactly what I mean - Chris was definitely someplace waiting - why would they have hauled him into a space to show that no one else showed up? I guess the Squeeze one just bothers me because no one seemed too upset about the idea of getting back together... ...not like those Klymaxx ladies. Woah.... And yeah, former lead singers taking it out on the road with just a guitar and a few wisecracks...hmmm... Plus! Kathy - do you think some of that commotion is staged? I agree that it is bogus - it attempts to make urgency out of nothing. So, where do we sign the petition to get our boys on the show? I keed. I keed.

I thought it was pretty obvious that Jools Holland had zero interest in getting back together.

I still don't understand the half-hour running time, though. FGTH and Extreme declined, but they still got a full hour. I thought everybody involved was well-spoken about the past and present - it should have been easy to milk an hour out of it.
I'm probably wrong, but I think the band (and their advisors) probably had some conversations after the initial interviews. I would bet that they came to the conclusion that if they were to get back together, it would be on their own terms (with plenty of rehearsal, and a new album and tour) and not some hastily-arranged three song mini-set in front of a staged audience.

And are Gary and Nuno still playing music? I need more than words!

...not like those Klymaxx ladies. Woah.... That was pretty funny, just a little bitterness there. They take themselves and their "legacy" way too seriously, I honestly would have had no idea who they were had it not been for a SNL parody a few weeks ago.

Nuno not only wouldn't do the reunion but wouldn't even appear on camera. And bassist Pat Badger raises llamas.

And bassist Pat Badger raises llamas. Well, seriously, who didn't see that coming? (Been a really bad day at work. Anybody lookin' for a salesman? Warning: I don't like people.)
