Just spinning my Dead Man Shake vinyl for the second time,
("... for the very first time"--what song is that from?)
and I noticed that the sleeve (the paper envelope kind of thing that houses the round platter with the hole in it for you gen-y'ers) has a design, presumably overseen by Paul, of overlapping pages from the Bible, kind of smudgy and crumpled so you can't read any verse or even sentence in its entirety. The only thing that stands out is a bold heading "The Wise and the Foolish" and a general bluesy fire-and-brimstone feel from the punkish design of black text on dark blue background. Stuff about sin, mortal body, covet, evil, proud man's home, poor man's lips, and I guess I see a line about a "two-edged sword" which is probably where that famous metaphor comes from.
And of course the LP has to leave off a couple of songs so it can be six to a side, which of course I miss, but you know, CDs are too damn long.

Used to be more into them. Their last couple of albums have kinda sucked. Though I do really like their song from the movie Big Fish. MAN OF THE HOUR

many thanks to t.t.b.o. coz my vinyl copy was sitting pristine and preserved in it's plastic wrapping, so i wouldn't ever figured there was something else to check out.
i still argue that vinyl sounds better.

Where did you all find Dead Man Shake on vinyl? Right after it was released I heard someone found a copy at at Newbury Comics in Cambridge. I asked at Other Music in NYC and they hadn't heard of it being issued on wax. I guess I could check the Fat Possum site, but any help would be appreciated.
