so i just received the 14 songs thang. it's pretty nice, cool. i would've liked a longer interview, but oh well.
for those of you who have it, wouldn't you like to hear the song "two raindrops"?
on a related note, i'll bet paul has a TON of unreleased stuff in his "vault". he should cash out, and put out a box set of it all. someone asked bob mould if he has a bunch of unreleased material, and he said something to the effect of "of course, it's my life insurance policy..."
I DEMAND A BOXSET FROM PAUL WESTERBERG!!!!

I DEMAND A BOXSET FROM PAUL WESTERBERG!!!! Funny you should mention that, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Two Raindrops? You mean there is an extra song on that thing? Wouldn't that make it "15 Songs?" I have always thought of getting a copy of the " Deluxe Book Version" and have never gotten it. I assumed that these Special Edition things always had just extended liner notes and more pictures. I've never bought anyone's "Special Edition" anything, unless I know that it has a little something extra, otherwise I can browse the website and get the same idea.

the book edition IS cool, i will say. the songs are the same, though. just 14. two raindrops was a song that was recorded, and he described it as "beautiful", but it was scrapped because it didn't feel right.
you SEE?! this is why I DEMAND A BOX SET FROM PAUL WESTERBERG!!!!!

the question is: how much would you spend for this box set? this is not a joke. how much? i could EASILY spend into the 3 digits provided the set is really nice & comprehensive.
he could do it like prince did with crystal ball. release it on the internet only. take orders, and produce only enough needed to satisfy demand.

That would depend on how many discs there are in the box set. I have a couple of Cult demo box sets that I didn't pay that much for. The cost for the two box sets (12 discs worth of material) was like $85 (brand new from Beggars Banquet with both sets with an edition of 5000 or under). I paid $55 for the Johnny Cash "UnEarthed" box set and that was only 4 discs (excluding the "Greatest Hits" of the series). The Cure box set of b-sides that will be released this Tuesday is being advertised for $39.99 at Best Buy, so for me to pay triple digits for a box set, it better be well worth it (i.e. very limited quantities). I am also not opposed to an internet only release. I have a few items that were internet only releases that get huge dollars every now and then on eBay, so knowing that I have something that is hard to get is cool.

I DEMAND....

Anybody buy the 20 songs for Oceanside DVD, if so, is it any good?

oh, i've picked up a ton of clash/strummer vinyl on ebay & in local stores. stuff like the coma girl & redemption song 7" picture discs, 45 rpm single of know your rights b/w first night back in london, the cost of living ep, this is england 12" single, give 'em enough rope lp, rock the casbah 12" single b/w mustapha dance, + other stuff. I played the hell out of that clash "first night back in london" b-side when it came out, one of the better b-sides and better than most of Combat Rock methinks. So Scoot, do you own Boink then?

I just picked up the poster for the show at the Ogden this coming March 3rd. The fanboy that lurks inside me will be taking the poster to the show in hopes of getting PW and the band to sign it.

I have every Replacements album on vinyl except All Shook Down, Don't Buy Or Sell, It's Crap and The Shit Hits The Fans. I have two copies of Stink, one is an original and the other isn't I guess.
I have barely heard of The Shit Hits The Fans, what's the story on it?

i just "won" an auction for the "book" version of 14 songs. is it worth it? I went to the local Tower records store the day "14 Songs" came out. Due to a shipping glitch, this store ONLY got the booklet version: the clerk told me each Tower was supposed to get one copy, but they all ended up at this particular store. They were marked at 19.99, but due to the mix-up they were selling them for the regular CD price (12.99? 14.99? I can't remember) So I bought 3 of them...

I missed it the day it came out. I ended up getting my book version on half.com, still sealed for about $25. I thought it was a good deal.

I have barely heard of The Shit Hits The Fans, what's the story on it? www.twintone.com/projects/8443.htmlI used to see these (in the days before eBay) in the back of Goldmine for $100. Then one day I found one in a used record store, in a "3 for 99 cents" bin. I almost died.
