Yeah I think its bogus(the trash talking)....I would be completely lying if I said i wasnt an RA fan, have been for many years, I really am more of a Whiskeytown man, but Paul came LONG before him and he and that band rocked my world as a youngin and still to this day are my bestest band in the world even over the beatles......RA is kind of an asswhad in his cocky swagger and dont give a crap attitude(how much of the talking is media to hype him up and how much is truth?)......a lot like some other people I think we all love....true a lot of RA's stuff may sound a bit regurgitated at times : ) but c'mon man, ya have to admit he has put out some quality stuff and fine lyrics out there...........and yes I am swallowing my pride and ready for the punishment that shall come from this post...be gentle please, I am tender........
sincerely, the new guy

I don't understand the bitterness and anger toward Ryan Adams from fans on this board. I don't know his music at all. After reading so much about him I listened to a few samples from his latest album and it wasn't terrible, but didn't do much for me either. Anyway, when I see and hear musicians emulating PW I think it's a compliment to him. Particularly when the artists give him credit as an influence as both the Goo Goo Dolls and RA have.
And has been mentioned before, PW has borrowed his sound from a variety of artists. And no band is completely original. Even the Beatles were influenced by Dylan and Little Richard etc.
I guess my point is, I'm a little weary from the obsession with Ryan Adams on this forum. I don't get it. If you don't like his music then don't listen to him.

Ryan Adams is to _________ ? quote] Fred Durst I'm not a RA hater - I think the boy has a lot of talent - but I am not a fan of HIM. He might act a lot like the PW and Mats did but he just seems a little too whiny and annoying at times. Again nothing against his music which even I now enjoy some of. But his public persona is not good - less a rebel than a Gen X whiner. If Gramps is the out there version of PW, then Durst is the out there whiny version of RA.
