Paul always says he doesn't go out to hear bands and has no idea what's going on in pop music anymore. But in several recent interviews he said he listens to blues on the local public radio station. Which pretty much has to be KFAI-FM, a little community station in Minneapolis. They do have a lot of blues, and you can hear 'em on the web: www.kfai.orgHere's the blues (& r&b) lineup: Monday 3:00pm-6:00pm Bop Street. Hosted by Pete Lee. Tuesday 9am-11am Blueslady's Time Machine. Hosted by Rose Robinson. 3pm-6:00pm Rollin' and Tumblin'. Hosted by Jacquie Maddix. Wednesday 3pm-6:00pm Wednesday Afternoon with Jackson Buck. Hosted by Jackson Buck. Thursday 6:00am-9:00am Rock House. Hosted by Sara Oxton and Tad Selzer. 3:00pm-6:00pm Lazy Bill Lucas Show. Hosted by Joel Johnson (he died recently ... different guest hosts still I think). Friday 3:00pm-6:00pm Sugar Shop. Hosted by Lolly Obeda. Sweet Soul, R&B and the Blues... Saturday 6am-9:00am Great Blend of Watercolors. Hosted by Dee Henry Williams. Jazz, R&B and the Blues. 5:30pm-7:00pm Showcase of Rhythm and Blues. Hosted by Denise. Paul also complained about the production on most modern blues records, so I assume a lot of what he hears here he doesn't necessarily approve of, productionwise at least.
