Just want to say I received my Holiday Trade Disk in the mail last week and it IS an ACTION PACKED 21 SONG ROCK-N-ROLL TOUR DE FORCE.
I would like to give credit to my trade buddy, but I just realized I know his real name, but not his board name. Well, thanks B. The disk is great. I didn't think you could dance to Fountains of Wayne, Ben Folds and Ryan Adams, but my 7 & 9 year old daughters rock and jig all over the place to these songs.
And thanks to everyone on the board. As I told my trade buddy in an e-mail this board has been like going back to college for me, but without all the puking. Since I became involved a month or so ago I've picked up a bunch of new disks and about 4 new books. The new sounds, words and the many different points of view have elevated my exsistence.
Finally, thanks to everyone for indulging my rather pointless and "acerbic" wit (as el-goodo calls it). Ball-busters like me deserve to take some, but everybody here has been too nice to give me my just deserts.
Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays.
Peace. 100Bucks

I didn't think you could dance to Fountains of Wayne, Ben Folds and Ryan Adams, but my 7 & 9 year old daughters rock and jig all over the place to these songs. I discovered The Fountains of Wayne earlier this year (thanks to the AMR board) and have since bought all three of their releases. Just curious to know what song or songs of theirs were put on your disc. I LOVE these guys!! Welcome Interstate Managers is a must buy for anyone who likes smart power pop with some very sweet melodies thrown in.

I am still partial to the Fountains' self-titled debut... "Sink to the Bottom" has been a staple in my band's live set, as of late...
btw, my tape trade package was really great as well, and I am getting to hear some new stuff that I have been wanting to check out... thanks Liam...
hey 100bucks, looks like you didn't get that "spell checker" for x-mas after all... (we all had our fingers crossed...)

LOL
on the bright side- at least there are no omitted words in this post or at least, none as far as I can see.
The Fountains of Wayne included on my disk were:
Leave The Biker Bright Future In Sales Troubled Times I Want An Alien For Christmas
I bought the disk with "Bright Future In Sales" on it and lost it immediately amidst a whole bunch of other gifts. I hope it turns up soon and I (my wife) didn't accidentally send it to my sister who was hoping for another volume Harry Connick Jr. Christmas hits- she wouldn't be hip to F of W.
Those guys are great.

Need to thank my trade buddy as well, jodi your CD rocks! (plus cool cover art, nice!) Seriously not a skippable track on there, I listened to Ike Reilly's "Hip Hop Thighs #17" like three times in a row on the drive to work today, lots of other good stuff like The Shins "New Slang," Elliott Smith's "Thirteen" cover, Weakerthans' "None of the Above," Beulah, Dylan Hicks, the list goes on. Plus I finally got to hear "Looking Up In Heaven," great tune! Anyway, lots of great new stuff that I need to purchase, this was a pretty cool idea.
