Anyone know the deal with this CD on discogs? Are the songs available anywhere?

Weird grouping of songs considering their release dates (.2 & 3.)

Good find, but hadn't heard of "She Looks Like Rain". But jeez, seems like Warner still doesn't know what to do with Paul's output. These are promo copies, not for sale to the public and how stupid is that?
they never get promo'ed and there could be gems on there that nobody has access to except the record labels or maybe some radio stations or some media outlets for review. But given Paul's low profile, I'd figure his CD sits on the bottom of a stack of CD's for some music critics to hear and review.
I'm guessing Paul has made some money with his publishing rights and Glen Campbell covering "Any Trouble", but am wondering how much Paul is still in debt to Warner's. Seems like the label still hasn't forgiven The Mats' debts. He claimed in that Rolling Stone interview near the end of the reunion tour that the label came looking for their pound of flesh and got it, so they didn't really make much money off the reunion gig.

This is the only source for these songs except that there is also a single track promo CD for She Looks Like Rain. She Looks Rain is a piano-based song that sounds sort of like something from Suicaine Gratifaction. To me it sounds like it was recorded in a studio and not in the basement.
Any Trouble is only on the Three Tracks promo.
What A Day (For A Night) seems to be the same track as on Come Feel Me Tremble.

Yes please, as well as "Any Trouble," and any other tracks we fanatics haven't heard. I was quite certain I'd heard everything, but there's also rumor of a track called "For Your Consideration" or something like that. I saw it flip through ebay at an exorbitant price oh so briefly.

I'd love to provide copies for fans as I really want everyone to hear these tracks. However, there is a slightly complicated back story of which I will give you the short version. I have been a collector/archiver for some of my favorite artists for years chasing down radio station charity release CD's, UK CD singles, JP album versions etc to compile what I call Officially Released Non-album Track Anthologies. Of course for my favorite artists, I am also interested in non-official releases like demo's, radio performances and live recordings. At any rate, during my years of collecting and archiving, I have come into "contact" with lots of other collectors and traders. There is one particular trader that has been a source of lots of good stuff but they promise lots of things and don't deliver. They owe me several things and they dearly want these tracks. So I don't want these tracks getting into his hands or I may never see what I am owed.
Now, if I got a hold of these things via other sources I would still be glad to put these out there for everyone to hear (maybe I would put a screw you to the trader that stiffed me and a warning to others about this person in the file tag or something).
If you have a collection or know others who do and can source the things from the failed trade I would be so excited to 1) finally have them and 2) let all the PW/mats fans hear these tracks and I would look forward to the discussion I am sure they would generate. A key thing is that I am looking for these in lossless quality not MP3 (or MP3 in it's lineage).
These are the items I am after (owed from the "failed" trade): Liz Phair - WCSE demos/Shelved demos (2 CD) Paul Westerberg - Grant Park, Chicago 7-4-1996 Paul Westerberg - Troubadour, LA 9-17-1996 Bodeans - Grant Park, Chicago 7-4-1998 Matthew Sweet - Unearthed Demos Matthew Sweet - Pre-Girlfriend Demos
These are all generally available as MP3 (other than the Bodeans show) but the lossless quality ones seem to be rare. Things like the two PW shows are widely traded on CD or flac format but every version that I have seen was sourced from MP3. Both PW shows are good recordings and I was at the Grant Park show which was broadcast on WXRT (the same for the Bodeans show two years later), again I have multiple CD copies of these but they were all burned from MP3 sources.

Well I have got a lossless copy of Grant Park 7-4-1996 so my list is down by one. Still after these: Liz Phair - WCSE demos/Shelved demos (2 CD) Paul Westerberg - Troubadour, LA 9-17-1996 Bodeans - Grant Park, Chicago 7-4-1998 Matthew Sweet - Unearthed Demos Matthew Sweet - Pre-Girlfriend Demos
Again all of these are widely available as MP3 (except the Bodeans show which is rare for some reason even though it was broadcast in Chicago) but I am only interested in lossless quality either CD (with no MP3 in the lineage) or flac/shn/ape. If anyone can help with this and to right the wrongs of a bad trader I will be glad to put these out for everyone to hear for free.

I have now sourced all of the things I was owed in the trade other than these two: Matthew Sweet - Unearthed Demos Matthew Sweet - Pre-Girlfriend Demos
Can anyone help source lossless (non-MP3 lineage) versions of these? Again if I can close the door on these grail items from the failed trade I would be glad to share these PW tracks from the promo.

Can you post a sample to prove that you have what you say you have?

Here is a link to the first 30 seconds of She Looks Like Rain and Any Trouble. I am going to delete the link after a week so check them out now. Again I would be glad to share these for free with the world (I paid a premium for them) as long as I can get the last two things I was owed in a trade in lossless quality (Matthew Sweet - Unearthed Demos & Matthew Sweet - Pre-Girlfriend Demos). The person who didn't keep his end of the bargain in a former trade REALLY wants these PW tracks but they are the only person I have been able to contact that claim to have the two demo sets in lossless quality and I don't want these to get out there because I won't have any leverage to try to get those demo sets. Someone else out there has to have those Matthew Sweet demos and circulate pretty widely in MP3 format. drive.google.com/drive/folders/14YOfPH_4pXpJ7oZyd5r3ADAaqfD6RxnH?usp=sharing

Thanks for posting those sample clips, but I'm afraid I can't help you in your quest for the Matthew Sweet material.
It's interesting to hear Any Trouble; it's interesting it had been around for quite a bit before Paul sent it on to Glen Campbell to be used on Glen's final and farewell CD release.

This got me thinking—what if we’ve been hearing new PW material through someone else’s guitar, someone else’s voice? What if all this time PW has just been on a tear and we haven’t noticed because he’s been credited under some nom de plume. Some new Thaddeus Moonbeam. Naw, he wouldn’t.
