Tried a twist on a song title and don't know if it worked. Anyhow, Neil Young is going on a short tour. Wanting the presale codes, I busted out $20 for a year admission to the Neil Young Archives website.
I'm glad I did. It has a lot of interesting stuff on there. They have an album (Songs for Judy) from an acoustic concert in the 1970's that I was already thinking of buying. It's right there for me via streaming audio.
If Paul Westerberg did something similar for $20 a year, then would I sign up? Absolutely. In a second. It wouldn't even need to be archived old stuff. Just a new song once a month or something like that and count me in.
Didn't come up with anything worth posting in the last month? Just dig up something already recorded but never released. I'll take it.
It would be beat the selling songs for a dollar that he did in 2017. Things like 3o'clockkreep, Grandpaboy's Last Stand, Bored of Education, etc. all could have fit into this format.
Paul has contributed a lot to my life and a lot of others through his music. Build the website and they will come.

yeah, I remember back in the late 90's Kristin Hersh had like a subscription based thing where she'd share her old demos and recordings with Throwing Muses (I thought some of the demos just blew away the actual studio versions!). I had mentioned it a loooong time ago on this board that maybe Paul could do something like that as well. He would still make some money via a subscription fee and it'd be easy for him to share stuff with his fans.
So I'm in agreement with your post---I'd definitely sign up to to hear what he's doing or any unfinished works, rough sketches, etc...

I would be happy to pay $20 a year to see what P.W.'s up to artistically- music, paintings, cocktail umbrellas in the coat pocket, random bicycles rides- whatever!
