I have a dark horse, "Boring Enormous." The song makes me weep. "One thing I love I can no longer stand"--most moving description of a ten/fifteen-year-old marriage I've ever heard.

"Got You Down"...I was going through a divorce, and this seemed like it was written about my soon-to-be ex-wife and the boyfriend she was cheating on me with...

Probably "Boring Enormous." I love some of the lines: "Moving vans and swollen hands leave their mark" and "My love for you has finally scarred."

If I had to answer...it would be "Only Lie Worth Telling", just really enjoy singing along with it.

To me, the Stereo/Mono combination is the highlight of his solo career and is as good as anything he ever did really. I don't think I could pick one song. I'd feel the same way about Pleased to Meet Me.
He put out a whole lot of material from 2002-2004. I wish he would put out material on a regular basis again. I know the industry has changed a lot. But, so what? It's still music and he's a talented guy with a lot to offer (when he does offer it up).

I hadn't realized Stereo/Mono had been released on vinyl until a couple of months ago, so I sent off for a copy. These are such great albums and the vinyl pressings are fantastic! They got me right back into playing these two favorite Westerberg albums again.
To play fair, I'm going to go with "Don't Want Never", to me, the greatest unfinished song EVER, followed closely by Dinosaur Jr's cover of The Cure's "Just Like Heaven".
But really, it's hard to pick A favorites so (I know- I'm cheating) I'm going to also list my top three each for both LP's: Stereo: "Boring Enormous", "Don't Want Never" and "Let the Bad Times Roll". Mono: "Eyes Like Sparks", "Between Love and Like" and "AAA"

I cannot pick a single favorite track to save my life. But I have to say I absolutely love the opening lines of the OP's favorite track:
Coffee laughs at us every morning both of us laugh at the choices we make and ask ourselves how did it get so early? Boring enormous, it isn't for us to say

All of them . . . although I don't like the bonus track Postcards from Paradise very much.
You get a bonus track after a long pause after the end of the last song and it should be of the caliber of the rest of the album (at a minimum). I don't think this one makes the grade.
I don't dislike it. But, it's my least favorite track on a great album - one of my favorite albums by anyone.
