The reason for the inclusion of Born For Me is a pretty bold revelation.

"that's why I picked you"
That was quite a sit down. Peter is cool. He could talk for hours.. And he really listened to the album.....
Really amazing watching those to just kick back and talk....

wow on the Born For Me..... No kidding. Yikes! I'm surprised Paul would be willing to open up that can of worms but it almost seemed like it was something her really wanted everyone to know. It's not like he just accidentally said it. Especially considering he was talking about the reason Hatfield wasn't at the interview in the first place. As in not wanting to be asked about their relationship. As if she doesn't get enough shit to begin with with this collaboration.

That's the most we've heard from Paul in a long time. Pretty awkward and uncomfortable for the most part, not a real connection between the 2 PWs. it might have worked better on paper rather than a video, but still a cool piece. First listen of the record this morning!

It seems like he kinda knew it needed to be addressed (the question of "Are you just working together or TOGETHER together?") because people were going to inevitably want to know and ask him about it. And rather than saying directly "We're a couple", by telling people that he wrote that song about her almost 20 years ago, that tells people how strong (and long-standing) their connection is. It's clear from the interview they are together, it's just never said directly. He seems happy, they sound great together, nothing but good news as far as I'm concerned.
I hate seeing him smoke though. I have my own bad habits, as we all do, but it's painful to see anyone smoking, it's so goddamn lethal.

The interview wasn't very polished, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Paul seemed comfortable enough to reveal the "Born for Me" stuff. And we got our answer about PW singing on Fallon "I"m in love, with Daffodil." As a recently divorced guy myself, it's kind of nice to see a middle aged guy in love.

I believe that Peter got more out of Paul than anyone has. Peter, and I'm not a big fan, put aside his own ego to put Paul at ease. His insights into the album, both lyrically and musically, led Paul to open up in ways a 'regular' interviewer could never do. I think of this as an insight into a musician's thought process. It was a true fly on the wall film..perfect! Like the opening sequence to 'Broadway Danny Rose' it is so interesting how this conversation unfolds..

I thought Wolf did his homework and a fine job, but I thought Paul seemed uncomfortable (physically and socially) and it went back and forth between awkward and downright painful to watch. I didn't get the impression that he wanted to be there. It probably would have worked better for me in print. Still, always great to hear from Paul and I'm glad it's out there.

Is there anything even close to this for comparison with Paul? Maybe not a great interview compared to other interviews in general, but for Paul this is really good. Unedited, so you know you're getting everything (at least everything from start to finish of the video).

Anyone put in hotel room with someone who isn't an 'interviewer' as a job is bound to feel like it's hard to find the right footing. But they found it, by the end especially... It isn't a typical interview, it feels raw and far more real.

Agree completely Patty, two old road warriors talking shop. He comes across as a fan with knowledge and did ask the questions which ultimately got Paul talking.
